Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather III: Storm's a comin'

Oh right, I think that's been mentioned before. A sort of downriver backwater, right? Did I do that right? Or is "downriver" Detroit? I really have trouble telling flyover cities apart.

I have been to Omaha, though. And Detroit, come to think of it. The reminded me of the Binghamton Greyhound depot.

I thought you'd been to the Land of Sky-Blue Waters before?

I have never been to Minnesota, which I greatly regret.

I want to go there, Wisco, the UP, and NoDak after The Plague and drink til I pass out with all of you, respectively.

Teams I desperately want to watch play at home before I die:

Denver
Wisconsin
North Dakota
Minnesota
Lake State
Michigan Tech
Minn-Duluth
NMU
UAH
UAA
UAF
Maine

Let me know if you ever visit UMN. The couple next to us often sells their season ticket pair. We're on the glass in the corner on the long side.

Got power back an hour ago. I wasn't expecting it back till tomorrow, so am happily surprised. FIL is bringing a chainsaw and trailer up tomorrow to help us clear the couple of trees down in our yard.

Spent the day cleaning up my parents backyard... I'd have to say this was just an annoyance rather than call it an inconvenience.

Their yard has three trees in a triangle and each is about 40 foot tall. The wind seems to have ripped every single branch under 1" diameter out of them and ripped them to shreds. The yard was literally covered in 1000s of branches, finger width or less thick, and up to about 10" long. Way too many to pick up individually but too many to run a rake over without the branches getting all criss crossed and fouling up. It was difficult to move branches more than 18" with the rake, so you couldn't gather them into piles easily... Lots of bending over and just a massive time sink for the morning today....

Easily 7+ here. Still coming down.

My my wife is definitely taking my car tomorrow. I’m not fucking snow blowing. This is bullshit.

Green skies and thunder sleet earlier today. No, I don't recall ever having witnessed that before today.

I skied in that in the Laurentians in 1978. I don't recommend it. Apparently green skies mean the clouds are incredibly high and it can indicate a tornado. I didn't know that at the time and I am really glad.
