UNH Wildcats 2021/2022 - Return of the Champions of October?

The voter rolls in Detroit would beg to differ. :-)
_______________

Hockey Ref, I will agree with you on the humanity and humility of Jimmy Carter since he left office. More than almost any President in our history, he has used his position for good and to make the world better, while also not enrichenning himself or his family in the process (save for Billy Beer). With that being said, I just wish he had stayed in Georgia as the governor way back then and kept his niceness for the Peach state, and not the world at large. In most ways, we are in deja-vu all over again today, but the person in charge makes Billy Carter look like a mensa member. As Chuck mentions, learn from history or you are bound to repeat it.

Politics aside, we need more Jimmy Carter's in the world, and a lot less of a few others who care about their own selfish gains. While I do not agree with your view of things necessarily, that is ok as 'to each their own' and I do my best to be respectful of that. Why is being 'nice' such a terrible attribute? I heartily agree you need a person of strength in positions of power, I get that...but sorry, I don't particularly care for the Putins of the world and others like him. Nope. God help the people of Ukraine. I am heartened by their stand they are taking.

Ok, am really done talking politics here...I do not wish to engage; given a recent heart thing going on, I just can't do it. Going to these games is enough!!

Chuck, so sorry to be late in my response. Out cleaning up and doing the usual Saturday chores. Not to worry, I was not and am not embarrassed to help you out. Thanks so much for letting me know about my trophy. Are you bringing it tonight? Oh that’s right you don’t go to games you just tell us how we did. At first I thought it was interesting that you notified me of my reward rather than some committee or organization, but then I remembered that you are the Judge and Jury. Like in all things, kinda like a Dictator! Interesting how this came full circle.
To the good folks of this forum I apologize for this diversion and I will try to stop this. But a Bully needs to be tamed and/or controlled.
Go Cats!
I am feeling a 3-2 but can’t quite figure which team will show up.

To: EVERYONE!

I am a long time UNH hockey fan and forum reader, but infrequent poster. On behalf of myself, and I am sure others, please STOP with the political talk, name calling, labeling, etc. You are entitled to your opinions, thoughts, and speech, but please discuss it elsewhere. The title of this thread is: UNH Wildcats 2021/2022 - Return of the Champions of October?

Thank you in advance for those of you willing to stay on topic. No need for further discussion, apologies, etc. Just talk UNH hockey!

U-N-H! Let's Go Blue! Here we go Wildcats! Go CATS! Beat Merrimack!

It’s really pretty simple, if you don’t like it, just scroll on by until you find the hockey talk you are looking for. No need to get all upset.

And that has been the frustrating problem with this team for the past few seasons. Just when you start to feel a bit optimistic, you get a gut punch that brings you back to your senses! Win or lose, let’s hope they can finish this season off with some consistent play.

Now that's a good discussion. I completely agree. Well said.

What is even simpler is for people to stay on topic and be respectful.

Let's hope the Wildcats come out roaring tonight! Go Blue!

It would be even better if we could have more fans that do read these boards contribute to the hockey talk...and yes, 'Cats need to get it together from the get go and come out swinging. (Well...not literally haha) Posting to a message board isn't for everyone, and it takes all kinds to do so. That said I hope you'll become more of a 'frequent poster' rather than an 'infrequent poster'...I'd much rather discuss UNH hockey than anything else. Doesn't always work out that way though but I do pick and choose what i want to get involved in here. Welp, off to Dham....go 'Cats!!!

Hope you are well, 'Ref. Stay above the skirmishes on here ... or better yet, have hubby join in. ;-)

Contributions of recent US presidents to the Ukraine defense effort:

44: Donated lots of high quality, very comfy blankets
45: 210 Javelin missiles and 37 missile launchers (2018)
46: Nothing (zip zero nada) but talk as of Friday morning

I'll let everyone come to their own conclusions as to what has helped Ukraine most so far ...

33 (the last D who did a good job BTW): "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen"

P.S. - let me know, please, if I'm being "tamed" and/or "controlled", OK? :-)

Go UNH!

Fox disinformation strikes again. For the record:

45: 210 Javelin missiles and 37 missile launchers (2018)

TRUTH: that's quite the quaint spin:

At the time, Trump had placed roughly $400 million of congressionally-approved security assistance to Ukraine on hold, and the president is accused of dangling the aid over Zelensky as part of a broad scheme to pressure him into launching the investigations. The aid was ultimately released on September 11, less than a week after three House committees launched investigations into his administration's efforts to pressure Ukraine to help his reelection campaign..

46: Nothing (zip zero nada) but talk as of Friday morning

TRUTH
The United States drew from U.S. weapons stocks to supply Ukraine in the fall of 2021 and then again in December. Over the past year the United States has committed more than $1 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, Blinken said.

Now, on to Scott Borek, who propped up Umile in the final decade, matching up against the heir.

Go UNH!

https://fanforum.uscho.com/forum/community/uscho-cafe is a great place for off-topic conversation.

I agree. However, if some continue to drop uninformed information here, I occasionally feel the need to correct the record, lest some unsuspecting people believe crap.

But I fully take your suggestion.

I am glad Borek is doing well, and thought he was a good low-ceiling fix for Mack. Still glad UNH didn't pick him, though their screwy choice certainly makes him more appealing in retrospect.

Agreed.

Although my account has only recently been confirmed by USCHO, I also am a long time UNH fan and forum reader. Always have loved the passion and insight that has been displayed on these UNH threads by everyone here. Gives me great joy and a bit of reassurance to know that there is still a heartbeat (however small it may be) to UNH Hockey fandom. I watch what games I can and offer up my support to the program in the best ways that I can from afar. So, to see these posts diverge into politics is bit disheartening. Hard enough to watch our boys pound sand for years on end, and then have to read about it. Plenty wrong with the world today, so if this is a place where we can keep it friendly and on the topic of something we all love dearly - which is UNH Hockey - than let's do so!

If my grandfather still reads these threads and it's hard to believe he does, given the display of the club these past 10 years, I'm sure conversations such as the ones based on politics would turn him off for good.

Let's get this W tonight and finish the regular season with a bang, eh fellers!?

GO 'CATS

Couldn't get into Libbys so upstairs for the first time in a long time! Guess there's a party for Marty going on soon....DC are you in town? Anyway feels good to be up here after a long absence!!! Go 'Catttsssss!!
