The Barr Has Been Raised at UMaine

Great performance, team really fed off the crowd. I hope there were some recruits in the building, the place looked packed. If Maine were to win tomorrow night they’d be 4 points behind UNH with a game in hand. Likely playing Providence, Northeastern or BC in the first round.

Student section was fired up big time.
Hadnt seen them like that since two years ago, nice to see.

Pounding UNH always makes me feel warm and happy inside.

(And it ain't as though the Mildcats were anywhere near a PW berth... Win,win.)

Fun game for Maine fans. UHN looked asleep at the wheel early, better in the 2nd. Tonight I expect Maine to fall behind early and try to catch up. Neither team is a world beater but like to see Maine playing hard. Its a good sign if Barr can get some talent in Orono.

Got to like 1 stick on the ice on a PP, 3 Maine players broke their sticks and Maine scores a shortie :)

Might be so.
Suthers out tomorrow? And duerr went off ice hurt.Sirota is hurt.
Getting a little short handed.

I’m pretty sure I heard that every healthy skater was in the lineup last night. It was nice to see Maine beat up on a team and hopefully the last half dozen games we can see a consistent effort level to build momentum for next year.

Did someone really say Breen wasn’t a blue chipper?

This blue chip term is kind of ridiculous, was he the most recruited guy, probably not, but he’s very talented. As he’s become more confident, it’s really showing. He is going to be the player this rebuild is centered around at least the first couple years.

There’s been some talk about Barr’s year 3 and this might be a hot take but I think Maine makes the tournament that year. Combining the talent coming in with Breen and Houle as seniors should make for a team that can score. Ostman will be a senior and the d core is only going to get stronger.

Women's team thumped NH this afternoon, 5-0. Hopefully they can galvinize the men to a similar performance in the evening.

They need to find a goaltender of the future.

Building from the net out is always the way to go. Not really sure if any of the incoming recruits will be much to write home about but I recall looking at their numbers earlier this year and not being very impressed. Would love to be wrong there though.

If Ostman can improve his lateral movement he could be a good placeholder as the team in front of him improves the next couple seasons.

Yeah, none of our current commitments in goal are exactly setting the world on fire right about now. But I like Ostman a lot, he's kept the team in games this season and has stood his ground the whole time.

Strongly agree with this. His consistency could be better but overall he’s been good. He would have been really nice in the time between Bishop and Swayman.
