Si certus es dubita
On the money grab argument, she may have a solid point.
That's the thing about conspiracy theorists. They are aware of a truth: in our supposed democracy, the policies that favor and are favored by the majority are never enacted, while the policies that immiserate us at the hands of a few wealthy families are invariably passed, extended, and deepened.
So they know the fix is in. They have understood that far better than Moderates or Liberals.
But then they blame... black people, immigrants, women, gays, and the Left? All the people harmed even worse than they by the fix. That is what is so bizarre. These people are angry, whereas most people are pacified. But they vent that anger against fellow victims.
If we could just once find a way to cure that dysfunction and unite the sincere anger of people who have had their future ripped from them by the wealthy with people who are fully aware of the mechanisms of domination, we could actually remake America. It would not be an America that Moderates or Liberals would necessarily like. We would all have to give up a lot of comfort to finally bring everyone up into the warmth of the American dream. And most Centrists are selfish. Not as selfish as the very rich, but still, they are willing to let people go without health care to keep their insurance premiums down.
But it would be a much better world for everyone, on balance, except for about 10,000 families, who would just hate it, and who would have to adapt to living as only rich and not super rich.
