Yeah methinks that was part of what kicked this into overdrive...

They're is no way that is a coincidence.

At this point, I'm just waiting for someone from Meal Team Six to take a shot at some of the higher ups on the Dem side.

Cheeto Von Fukstik is gonna have them all worked up over this.

I can see it happening if there was a floor drain in IT room. All you need is a blockage down stream in drain system and pool water ends up coming up floor drain in IT room. It happens quite often in other buildings. That said it wouldn’t shock me if it was done by putting a hose in the room where any evidence could be found.

Yeah, but hard drives aren't necessarily unrecoverable even if submerged. Especially if they're traditional disks.

Unless that platter was allowed to sit with salt water for more than a day or two, I'm guessing most would be recoverable.

(if they're SSDs, I vaguely recall those being essentially impossible to recover since they typically don't have perfectly aligned files along a stripe the way a HDD does). I think. It's been a while since I looked into this. It's why you don't back up to any kind of solid state memory (god forbid SDs, thumbs, or other portable media).

Huh. Today I learned something. I thought SSDs were the best. Guess I'll need to keep a couple old platter HDDs around.

Trump is in really big trouble if this reporting and commentary is indicative of where this is heading:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jun/07/trump-documents-grand-jury-florida-espionage-act
Federal prosecutors have subpoenaed multiple witnesses to testify before a previously unknown grand jury in Florida in the criminal investigation into Donald Trumpâ??s handling of national security materials and obstruction of justice, according to people familiar with the matter.
...
The previously unreported involvement of Bratt could suggest the questioning could focus on potential Espionage Act violations, particularly whether Trump showed off national security documents to people at his Mar-a-Lago resort - a recent focus of the investigation.

Why Florida? Because if you're charging 793 you charge it in Florida.

https://twitter.com/PropterMalone/status/1666451795797856256
they are pretty clearly going to charge 793 (retaining classified info when you're asked to give it back) but don't sleep on the possibility of 794 (giving classified ish to agents of foreign governments) FL is the likely venue for that, too

this is important because if you give certain document categories to foreign agents the death penalty is in play, and one of those document categories is war plans, such as the Iran war plans Trump reportedly had

that doesn't mean anybody is going to get executed. but it is a category of punishment against which a future pardon dangle is cold comfort

Yeah well the Feds aren't exactly known for moving quickly...

That said the other GOP candidates are now openly defiant of Trump which is rather new.

I thought they were selling themselves as "I'm identical to him but I won't be in prison on Election Day"?

Yeah but it's more hostile now...the tone has changed they smell blood in the water.

At least Mike Dense has to break with him. Dude was going to be hanged by the dumplings. He can't be a Romney prison b-tch after that.

Still, all these "opponents" are running for Veep until proven otherwise.

I'm betting he picks somebody utterly insane like Candace Owens.

Pence said yesterday "Trump asked me to choose between him and the Constitution and I chose the Constitution" or something similar. He won't be Veep again.

Btw to add more smoke...

NEW: Prosecutors are ready to ask for grand jurors to vote on a Trump indictment as early as tomorrow, on charges of obstruction of justice and Espionage Act violations.

MORE: It is understood that Mr Trump's last White House chief of staff, @MarkMeadows, has agreed to plead guilty to several lesser federal crimes in exchange for his testimony under a limited grant of immunity.

I'm just saying...

I agree. I'm not saying it will happen just saying that the people I trust to know seem to think it will for various reasons.

The Meadows part is interesting...

We know that to get Dump, his underlings would have to turn...

It was just a question of who would have the key to unlocking access to an air-tight case.
