The GQP Thread: I'm even sick of that fuck's number and, anyway, he's gone (for now)

The jury verdict is going to hinge on whether they think he was acting in self defense. Testimony that one guy pointed a gun at Rittenhouse before Rittenhouse shot him, that while Rittenhouse was on the ground, one or two of the people he shot were kicking him or swinging a skateboard at him, and testimony that one of the people he shot tried to grab Rittenhouse's gun away from him right before Rittenhouse shot him, while verbally threatening Rittenhouse, is evidence that a jury can use to acquit. Not saying they will, or that Rittenhouse should even get away with what he did without penalty. I'm just saying the facts are not as some of you may believe, think you believe or wish.

The jury verdict is simply going to hinge on which set of attorney's won the jury selection. From the start this has been portrayed as a Right/Left contest. The facts matter little. If convicted, he will get an appeal. If not, he will be a guest on OAN and Newsmax. Maybe Fox.

If he walks, he will go full Zimmerman and then some. We'll be hearing about his death from drug and alcohol abuse in about 10 years. And that's assuming he doesn't eat someone else's lead first.

if he walks on all charges it's a travesty. While the prosecution has been less than stellar, they completely shredded Rittenhouse's defense in at least one of his confrontations.

Excellent summation of the three ring circus of batshittery that was the Rittenhouse trial today by my friend @BMeiselas. Theatrics and cosmically biased judge aside—the prosecution did have a moment in which they made his guilt unequivocally clear.

At what point does the judge also rule the prosecution isn't allowed to use the letter "e" in anything they say? It feels like it's going in that eventual direction.

Looks like meadows isn’t showing up for his hearing today

that tracks only Dems are required to show up

In this case...they are likely right. Remember this is just pausing the release while he appeals which logically is how it should work. if they get released and he wins his appeal (which he likely won't but still) there is no way to put the genie back in the bottle.

I mean the three judges were not exactly Trumpers. 2 Were Obama appointees and the third was a Biden appointee.

And the key:

"The purpose of this administrative injunction is to protect the court's jurisdiction to address appellant's claims of executive privilege and should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits," the panel wrote in a two-page order.

He still has to win his appeal and I don't even think the Supremes will back this one.

Sure, but Donnie's goal isn't to win in court.

His goal is to run out the clock until a new Republican Congress shuts down the investigation.
