Keith Olbermann sucks and his opinions suck. I say that as someone who used to be a fan of his and who generally agrees with his stance on things when he isnt going Mark Levin on the bit. He is even proven wrong in the comments about Biden not prosecuting. (Biden said he will stay out of the DOJ)

There is a reason KO only posts his "shows" on Twitter and other platforms. His stupid retirement because Trump was going to be out of office early proves he has no clue what he is talking about half the time.

He's on the fringe and extreme for sure but he was right about Iraq and he is right about not prosecuting Bush.
 
KO was great in sports. In politics he's embarrassing, and I agree with him 98% of the time.

His self-importance in sports felt like a bit to parody the idiocy of sports media in general and ESPN in particular. It was the perfect send-up of completely useless people thinking they mattered.

But politics does matter, and his self-importance there turns people off from positions that are on point. He's not helping.

It always entertains me to hear that Democrats turn people off and Tucker, Laura, and Hannity turn people on.

It's ****ing fascinating.

AOC is scary. She's the 600 lb. Gorilla in the room.

It's the same reason cons can't do humor. Liberals have a sense of the absurd and they are turned off by appeals to the id. Cons have no filter and lap that stuff up. They literally have no self-awareness, they are missing that piece of wetware.

Yes we think and discern. They just nod their head and smile. You seem to want us to be like them. KO definitely does. If we become them then we might as well quit.

It is why I lost respect for Maddow. She is arguably one of the smartest people on TV and is the wonkiest of the wonks but her show and her over the top "I need to be the MSNBC version of Tucker" got old fast. Air America failed for a reason...Dems are educated and research things they arent going to just fall for the outrage of the day. Unlike GOPers we will actually turn away when you cry wolf too often.

This is not a situation where fighting fire with fire works. Dumbing down the rhetoric on the Left isnt going to make people like it more...it will actually make them even less popular because those of us with functioning frontal lobes will tune them out. AOC isnt scary, she is everything KO wishes he could be. She has relevant points and makes cogent arguments and is respected for it. (even the Centrists dont hate her as much as the media pretends they do) KO and clowns like him couldn't do that if she wrote their scripts for them.

As for AOC. Yes, she is super scary to the country. You can draw a straight fucking line from her to the increase in votes Trump got. I personally find it insane that people think that way, but here we are. Noted centrists on this board find her scarier than Trump. Square that.

God you are such a crybaby. Quote whoever you want but dont act like a spoiled child just because other people don't agree with it.

And yes Maddow is part of the problem...but only because she goes along with MSNBC programming. She is smarter than Chris Hayes and Laurence O'Donnell and she should lean into that. she should be the brains of the operation, the Chris Wallace to keep up the Faux analogy. I have listened to her talk for hours on things that I have no clue about and be riveted but her show is not that and hasnt been for years. Every story is dialed up to 11, the phrenetic pauses to try and build the drama...its a joke. She has no need to lean on that crap she is smarter than 95% of the people on TV these days.

Maddow should be hosting shows like Meet the Press not second rate fear mongering magazine shows like Olbermann used to have. Back when they were both on the air her show was ten times better than his. Now she is just Ed Shultz with a better personality. She needs to go back to being who she really is. (which shines through when she is NOT on MSNBC)

As far as I know 90% of Maddow show openings are exactly the same as what you are describing. So I have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Gee, sorry man. Don't respond to me no more then. Good way to avoid it.

And if you think Chris Wallace is a good example your insane. He's worse than the rest of the talent on Fox. He gets all the same crap Hannity does in and does it while everyone thinks he's being super center guy.

Agreed. We need more Ashleigh Banfield types, straight journalists not afraid to call out "news networks that wrap themselves in the flag and target specific demographics."

It's too bad that viewers and ad revenue drive cable news and NBC discarded people like her and Soledad O'Brien for yes people.
