"California is gonna have to ration water. You wanna know why? Because they send millions of gallons of water out to sea, out to the Pacific. Because they want to take care of certain little tiny fish, that aren't doing very well without water."

So...ummm...if I am understanding the President right California is experiencing a water shortage not due to the weather or climate change or the fires but because they are sending all the water TO THE OCEAN to help the fish because THE OCEAN doesn't have enough water? I think I just had a stroke reading that...

Meanwhile...we go back live to Biden's campaign headquarters:

This is almost beyond funny now...the guy is having a break from reality. Reminds me of my friends father in law who had the earliest signs of Alzheimer's...had a surgery on his knee and something (I believe they said the anesthesia but I dont know for sure) jumpstarted it and 2 weeks later he was completely gone mentally and had to be put in a home. COVID and the meds have caused a psychotic break because reading all of that crap and the stuff he has been spewing for days makes Trump a month ago look like friggin Einstein.

He also said babies are being executed after they’re born in Virginia and thousands of ballots with his name are being thrown in rivers and garbage cans.

don lemon is just laughing right now as he’s playing clips from the fox call

I think his point, to the extent he pretends to have one, is that instead of letting the farmers use every single drop, they are forcing them to allow some to continue to flow along the rivers which eventually flow into the ocean. Which is true. Because basically sucking up every drop of water upstream and leaving literally nothing for the rivers and wetlands along the way after them would have monumentally drastic effects on the entire ecosystem of the state. Now, perhaps one could argue about the exact amount allocated to each group along the way, and there could be a spirited debates with statistics and cost-benefit analysis to show the strength of each opinion on the issue. But of course he doesn't want that, it's all IT'S BEING SENT TO THE OCEAN. Relax asshole, you're already getting the vote of that part of the state. All 20% of them, enjoy losing the state by 30% motherfucker. I'm surprised he didn't say Cory Booker is stealing all of the water as part of his ooga-booga Mandingo dog whistle.

How else are we supposed to make the Regeneron treatments? He promised them to everyone!!

I mean I get all that...but its the fish part that really gets me. Why would the tiny fish be struggling? Wouldnt all of the fish be struggling? And since when is the Pacific Ocean so low on water that some of these tiny fish are in danger? I mean I know he doesnt believe in science but...

See stuff like this is proof the guy doesn't have a clue, he barely cribs enough info to fake his way through. Its like the kid who watches 20 minutes of the film Frankenstein instead of reading the book and then writes a book report about it.

Are they freshwater fish that are in the ocean? I’m so confused

I mean again I think it's the fish in the rivers rather than the ocean, because yes if you dry up every fucking river it will hurt the fish but it will also hurt everything else in the state. He's still dumb as Chuck's mom with 12 trucker cocks in her mouth and all but yeahh.

The tiny fish are struggling because the bigger fish hog all the water that is available. So, you need to leave more, so the tiny fish can get some too.

Water that our farmers and businesses now Can't use, cause we need to save it for the tiny fish.

Interesting. I was wrong about Pelosi's presser. I thought this was a commission for future presidents. No, she's announcing a 25A inquiry into Trump. I totally misunderstood this.

Edit: Nm. I was wrong about being wrong.

I'm looking forward to Dumpy's ramblings about this, ha ha...

I believe the fish in question is the delta smelt. It needs the rivers/stream tributaries for spawning. After spawning once it dies. The young fish then go back downstream to the estuaries to mature before going back up to spawn. It needs some level of minimum flow to get up to ideal spawning habitat. They have a low fecundity (low number of eggs) and spawning success has been declining. Like many small non-game fish they are an important part of the ecosystem and food chain. I am not certain but I would imagine they are a an indicator species as well. Their decline means bad things for that river system. They are currently listed as critically endangered but may very well be functionally extinct. Many of the specimens in the system are being hatched in labs and released in a desperate attempt to save them.

Lots of people blame the smelt for the loss of water for irrigation and then subsequent job loss. However, it has been countered by others that the loss of water for irrigation is more to do with the massive and long lasting drought that California has been going through for years. Based on what reading I have done and my limited knowledge of water use rights and what not (and because I am not an derp idiot), I am inclined to agree with the drought reason. I don't know the specifics of the court orders, but I would venture that it was set so that some minimal flow would be maintained in the river. Now, with already record low flows due to droughts, it greatly reduces the water than be taken for irrigation. If there was good flow, it is likely that they would be able to get good water with minimal impact on flows of the river.

Long story short: Trump is a moron and has no clue what he is talking about. But we all knew that.

This Pelosi Commission thing is stupid. It is bad optics and even if they feel Trump isn't fit for office there is no way this legislation will A) pass in time or B) have the teeth to actually do anything. I mean it is a solid troll move, but it does nothing to help.

Yeah it just let's them play victim while not having the power to really do anything. Unless she knows a lot more about what is happening and can definitively prove it.
