There is a fierce division here between the Right and Left of the Democratic party -- the only major party still devoted to democracy. This is an "echo chamber" only in the sense that there is universal agreement on the statement "Nazis are bad," now that conservatives have either fled or been Ignored by so any of us they no longer register.

If you can't accept that 1/6 was treason deliberately attempted by the GOP then, frankly, you are not welcome. We have enough trouble without harboring terrorists.

If I am the new Centrist we have shifted the Overton Window well passed even you buddy. Not many Centrists support Sweden level taxes and social values ;^) (not to mention repealing 2A)

Can we have the adults back in charge? The crap show of the last 8 months has been hilarious no doubt, but it's gonna kill off any retirement plans I've worked for over the last 40 years ...
 
Dow and S&P are up 15-20% for the calendar year, as since January vaccines have quickly made their way to anyone who isn't so borderline retarded that they refuse it. How shitty are you at investing?

What are you doing wrong? Our plans have gotten very solid over the last few months. And we've only been working on them for 30 years. Did you not get the memo about panic and not selling low?

Looks like you get to work for 50 years, then. We will stop at 30.

Just checked the dow, and it's up 11.8% from inaguration day. So it's clearly you and not the market.

I'm a n00b at investing as seen by my questions in the Business thread, but even *my* 401K has more than doubled since the low March 2020. The only one that hasn't doubled is my Vanguard Small Cap that I'm playing with house money on. That one has stalled since February... and even then it's still [ ] close to being double from March 2020.

If a simple change in command at the White House is going to "kill off" your retirement, I'd say you're a pretty awful investor. But then again, Chuckster is a bad faith actor who is just here to troll and I'm quite sure he'll retire comfortably, probably to his vacation home.

And if you take your cues of health from cartoon characters, well that on you. And FWIW, I'm not talking about Mr Magoo or McPlatypus- but pretty much any R person out there.
 
If your 401(k) isn't primarily in a total stock market fund, you're fucking yourself in the ass.

Sure you can move stuff to a more "preservation" type fund as you get closer to retirement, but lol, this has been the easiest stock market to invest in since the stock market was conceived.
