Fucking ****

just found out my wife's unit is being turned into a fucking covid mental health unit.

Holy hell. It's worse than I thought. They're all active covid patients. I have no idea what this serves. It's not effective mental health treatment.

they're forcing therapists and mental health advocates to essentially become babysitters for people infected with COVID since beds in traditional covid units are full and they don't have a place to put these people. They think that four pages of PPE instructions is sufficient to train someone to handle a highly contagious disease. This is fucking madness.

Thanks for the info - perhaps that is what the current guidance is. As of right now we are not in the situation so I'm just going to deal with it if it arises. We are all vaccinated and boosted so hopefully it just does not come up.

But - you are correct - i honestly get the impression that not even the school knows what they are doing with all of this.

Best of luck man. I've talked a bunch about this with friends that are parents and the only thing I have any certainty of is that I'm really really glad I don't have kids.

I think at that point if I'm her I just say no.

"Your incompetence will not constitute my death sentence."

My daughter is getting pretty close to this situation baby-sitting the spawn of covidiots in her middle school.

Thankfully we have been in a position where we could keep the kids reasonably well engaged through all of this. We were in a position to buy them each their own Chromebook to use in remote learning, have reliable high-speed internet, stay home a lot of the time and help them with their online classes when they were fully remote and hybrid etc etc

I know there are thousands of kids out there in very different and less fortunate situations - kids who had to rely on a school issued Chromebook (and often times only one per family not per student - or even didn't get one at all), didn't have good internet or even internet at all, had to be left home alone all day etc etc.

The failure to find a way to keep kids in school (or at least well engaged with school) through all of this will without a doubt go down as one of the greatest public health failures of our lifetimes.

May I ask what she teaches?

One of many, I fear. History will not look kindly on our era.

If they had just used the time to upgrade the ventilation at many of these schools and then certain Nut Jobs not fought the mask mandates and vax requirements we would not be here. Instead half the country showed they value education even less than previously thought. Teacher burnout was at all time highs prior to the Pandemic and now we are on the precipice of a full on collapse of public education. Because a bunch of fucking morons are too stupid to understand 3rd grade science.

You fuckwits better pray God doesn't exist because gullible twats like you ain't going to heaven no matter how much you prayed.

Combine the movement to for profit money laundering to get healthcare to the movement to profit on public education, yea.... This is exactly what R's have been wanting for decades. Not a pretty sight.

Some things are better with a little bit of socialism spiced in them. Defense, roads, education, healthcare.....

Energy, heavy manufacturing, air and sea transportation...

Quick update: My test came back negative however, my wife's test results still haven't come back yet so my results are pretty useless. Especially considering how crappy I've been feeling the last 24 hours.

"So, here's my plan."

She had wanted to catch Covid so there would be fewer restrictions on her movement, Mr Rek explained.

Two days before she died, she wrote on social media that she was recovering: "Now there will be theatre, sauna, a concert". On Sunday morning, the day she died, Ms Horka said she was feeling better and dressed to go for a walk. But then her back started hurting, so she went to lie down in her bedroom. "In about 10 minutes it was all over," her son said. "She choked to death".

Although she was unvaccinated, Jan Rek stressed that his mother did not believe in some of the more bizarre conspiracy theories about Covid vaccines. "Her philosophy was that she was more OK with the idea of catching Covid than getting vaccinated. Not that we would get microchipped or anything like that," he said.

There was no point in trying to discuss the issue with her as it would just get too emotional, he added. Instead, he hoped that by telling his story he could convince others to get vaccinated.

Get. Vaccinated. Even if you do test positive, you will weather the storm.
