I think whoever's check she cashed to do this is way bigger than any contributions she would have gotten. My intuition is she just flat out sold out -- take the money and buy an island. She started out trying it with the Greens and finished with the bigger money from the GOP.

A small step in me being wrong about Democrats losing the House. Good thing I’m not a betting man. Now, if inflation disappears or appears tamed by this summer, leading to Biden’s approval ratings rebounding, we have a shot.

If the electorate wraps their mind around the enormity of the Biden Boom, the midterm systemic forces will favor us (Reagan 1984, Clinton 1996 for example). Obviously, no Republican will ever know we are in the midst of the greatest economic recovery of the last half century. Their Keepers won't allow it. But we don't need them to win. We just need the fact that we are going in a positive direction to become second nature among everyone else.
And we can help do that. In all our interactions, doggedly insist on the fact of that this prosperity is raising people up. Cite sources or compelling anecdotes depending on the type of person you are talking to. Correct "LOLDems" myths among well-meaning but lazy allies.
We are the only thing standing between the Nazis and the world's greatest nuclear arsenal. We have to start acting in the interests of life on Earth. Make the sale. Get to yes -- with every person who isn't irrevocably lost.
As for the fascists in the electorate: ignore them. Don't waste your energy. They are already moral corpses. Give them none of your finite attention or energy.

That would give them two huge tourist destinations in Fargo and Hilton Head. To say nothing of the Biltmore palace and the Palace on the Prairie. Would almost be unfair.
Yellowstone and NYC would be deserted. Geysers with no one to watch them, and nothing but paper trash blowing around Times Square.

We haven't had a really decent non-contiguous state since Massachusetts lost Maine.
Speaking of, I am all for combining Maine and Oregon and combining the two Portlands into the same city.

I should have clarified. A large number of those are Sotans seeking temporary relief. I classified them as tourists rather than asylum seekers. The biggest downside is that many of them trade in rosemaling artifacts and insist upon applying Minnesota values.
