Minister of Defense has supposedly had a massive heart attack, "not from natural causes". Another 20 or so generals arrested for embezzling military funds since 2014. Scapegoats for Putin's incompetent military.

When the generals allow themselves to get arrested that just tells me that Putin is still firmly in control.

On a deke that wouldn't have fooled Ahmad Carroll.

I read an explanation that the UAV distraction thing doesn't make sense and might just be decent propaganda.

boiled down to that IF there was even a TB2 in the air, it was most likely providing targeting info and not there as a distraction.

From twitter so who knows?

14 Russian sailors from the Moskva cruiser rescued and taken to Sevastopol by boat after the Ukrainian attack. 496 crew members unaccounted for - UNIAN journalist Roman Tsymbaliuk.

Russia threatens to put nuclear weapons in Kaliningrad if Finland and Sweden join NATO.

Deterrence, ur doin it wrong.

I read something which I had never actually thought about before re: their threats to nuke the West. The oligarchs' spoiled sons and (admittedly, hot) spoiled rich daughters and wives all live in the West, because night life back home is potato.

It was his personality.

Are they really going to burn their children alive?

Good. Let them fall on a sword for a leader that is going to destroy Russia from within.

He is losing to the equivalent of the Jamaican Bobsled Team...

They will be the canaries if we do start flirting with this tactic in a legitimate way....

Tighten the screws.

Ukrainian military intelligence reported on April 15 that sanctions are increasingly disrupting Russia’s ability to replace equipment losses.[1]The GUR stated that Uralvagonzavod, the largest tank manufacturer in the world and producer of Russia’s T-72 main battle tank, is facing rising interest rates on loans, rising prices on materials and components (including armored steel), and shortages of imported components. The GUR said that Russian import substitution efforts are failing to maintain existing contracts.

Russia already has nuclear weapons in the Baltic region, says Lithuania | Reuters

They've had them in Kaliningrad since before this blowup so...

Take a break, Driver 8.

In the latest blow to Vladimir Putin's failed campaign, Russia has lost its eighth general since the invasion of Ukraine.

The deputy commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms unit, Major General Vladimir Frolov, was given a military funeral in St Petersburg earlier today.

Major General Vladimir Frolov, the Deputy Commander of the 8th Army, was buried on Saturday in St. Petersburg, according to RIA Novosti, citing the city administration's press department. Frolov died during military operations in Ukraine.

The goodbye ceremony, which included Governor Aleksandr Beglov, was held with military honors at the Serafimovsky cemetery. As his friend was laid to rest, the governor of St Petersburg said Frolov "sacrificed his life so that children, women, and the elderly in Donbas would not hear bombs explode again." Alexander Beglov stated that the general came from a military family and "died the brave death in battle against Ukrainian nationalists."

34 Colonels have joined the 8 Generals. May there be many more.
