Covfefe-19 The 12th Part: The Only Thing Worse Than This New Board Is TrumpVirus2020

Heard an interesting bit this morning on CNBC radio that I haven't seen shared here yet. The distribution of the vaccine is looking to go smoothly, with shipping companies able to keep the Pfizer vaccine as cold as it's needed, and the same with the Moderna. The problem that is now at a head is the "last mile" of distribution. The route goes:
Vaccine maker -> Shipping -> Regional hubs -> distribution to hospitals, doctors offices, etc. -> *WHERE THE NEW PROBLEM LIES* -> General Public.

Operation Light Speed, the federal program overseeing this, continues to be hands off ("We're not a shipping clerk" --President Trump) when it comes to the distribution of the vaccine. Each state's health department is the deciding factor of the who AND where the vaccine gets distributed to. It's up to each state to determine how the general public will get this vaccine. Yes, the vaccine is free*, but that doesn't prevent good old capitalism from intervening and making the distribution to wealthy people who want to skip to the head of the line possible. This also means that residents in one state may get better treatment than their neighbors just across the state line.

*Free in that the US Government is re-paying the expense incurred for the distribution of the vaccine.

Walz gets a lot of grief, some is deserved, but let’s not lose sight of how he didn’t crack a smile while notifying restaurants that they can open up outside dining. In December. In Minnesota.

My local hospital doesn't have the cold storage to be able to keep the Pfizer vaccine, so heard on the radio today that they have five days to use up whatever they get.

So what they're saying is, things are actually really bad and COVID isn't a hoax? ;-)

But it is a only as bad as the cold! Hardly anyone dies from it! And trust in Jesus. And Big Gretch is a "facist". Nobody thinks about businesses! Or it is only a big city problem!
(Sigh)
Honestly, I think my (distant) family would be a fascinating study on cult mindset...

There’s good science showing indoor dining is a spreader

Yeah but rubes think otherwise so science doesn't matter. I mean if you can't trust townies in NoDak, SoDak and Iowa over scientists then you are obviously an idiot!!

But hey all is well...3486 dead today crushed the old record. (set way back 7 days ago!)

The way things are going we should break past Antietam this week! Hey that battle lead to Lincoln pushing the Emancipation Proclamation so maybe this will lead to something as well.

Holy fucking shit

national vaccine rollout cut from 8 million to 4-5 million this week.

states are finding out they are getting 30% less than expected

Governor Crazy Eyes of SoDak wore a mask in a picture about the vaccine...Parler is not pleased with her!

i saw that and had to read the story three times to make sure it wasn’t a typo or an old story.

You haven’t been talking much about ND’s numbers the last couple of weeks. Everyone must have died, eh?

Yes, their laissez-faire approach has only moved North Dakota up to 4th in deaths per million people from 8th a couple weeks ago. A disappointing finish, no doubt. There’s still time to slip back down the rankings, maybe even the dreaded 5th place, same as Minnesota and their five national championships.
What’s unfortunate for you is if our federal government had produced even a halfway coherent response, 20,000 deaths would actually have been achievable, and you could have rightfully gloated about how we were all being hysterical on here back in April, like you so often do. Alas, the laissez-faire approach didn’t get it done for you, our federal government, or North Dakota.

Holy ****ing ****

I read for Pfizer it takes three separate facilities to produce the vaccine and sounds like entire process takes a month or so. I can guarantee you they are dumping a decent amount of batches too. This isn’t like bottling water.

False.

You are seeing data being put into a dashboard, not actual deaths on one day. As more time goes on there are more dates to pull data from. That many people did not die today because of covid. Yet that is exactly what they have you believing, it is amazing they can do this and also sell you on being informed.

Deaths layer into the past and the last time we averaged 1000 deaths per day was back in August. We likely hit that mark again in November and December for a few weeks but you have to go back to APRIL to find a week where we averaged 3000 deaths / day.

OK, let's assume that your numbers are accurate, even though they aren't...

Down to 1,000 deaths a day..? MAGA, BABY!!!

(And where did you get those faux charts? Parler?)

Correct. Kinda.

One the frozen Pfizer vaccines arrive at the point of distribution: "Once sites receive their thermal shippers filled with vaccine, they're supposed to replenish the dry ice within 24 hours. If they don't use the vaccine within five days, they're supposed to replenish the dry ice again, and then again five days later.

Clinic staff must act fast when removing vaccine from the shippers. According to Pfizer's instructions, the boxes can be opened only twice a day, and each time for no more than a minute.

At any point, the vaccine can be removed from the shipper and put in the refrigerator, where it is good for only five days -- any longer than that and the vaccines have to be thrown away."

The thing is the chart probably isn't super wrong, it's just super misleading. It takes 6-8 weeks to get close to full reporting for deaths, so it will ALWAYS look like deaths are going down if that's how they are reported. The deaths for November wont be close to accurate until February, and in February Jeb will be saying look how low deaths are now compared to November. But of course February data will be incomplete until May...etc etc

Not gonna quote him but will reply.

Jebbers, what the **** difference does it make that maybe those people didn't die on Wednesday, but died on Monday or Tuesday instead, and their death is just being counted on Wednesday?

They still ****ing died. Of Covid 19. Always cherry-picking and nit-picking stats in an effort to be proved right.

Guess it just means Monday's death total should have looked worse than it did. Oh, and averaging 3000 deaths/day for some periods in Nov/ Dec? But you were the one way back in August crowing about how we were all wrong, and death totals were falling, and this would soon be over.

Can't believe you still dare show your face here with a track record as poor as that. But some people have no shame.

And since I'm here, go tell your butt-buddy whalers to go fuck himself

You told us not to care. So many of us don't, anymore. The state's public clearly don't care. Any empathy shown from posters goes totally wasted.
