Anybody else having USCHO sit on page load for > 90 seconds sometimes?

It's like having my porn on dial up. Yeah, I'll still use it, but it's suboptimal.

Either shit on the pot or go home. Kill the site or put more effort into it. This is my first post in MONTHS outside the Lodge/Polls page. USCHO needs to make a decision. No half-measures.

I still have them on my desktop using either Chrome or Edge. OTOH, mentioning something is on a given post by number has always been a problem because it will have a lower number if someone deletes an earlier post.

It's never 90 seconds for me, but 15-30 is pretty common.

I've noticed that depending on what device I'm using to access it, there's a flicker of a pop-up ad that shows up from time to time - it's a literal flicker that I can tell something was there but it's gone before I can ever see what it was for. I'm wondering if on other platforms that process is causing it to hang.

Go to the post I made on 12/17/2020, timestamped 2:40PM. (Board won't let me quote it.) short version: They're looking into replacing the current board with other versions because they're not happy either, but they're waiting for the offseason.
 
The one thing that I can say about this upgrade is that whoever is programming at vBulletin right now is just not very good at their job. While most interfaces are getting faster, more intuitive, and more feature rich their interface blows chunks the size of Jupiter.

Depending upon the device I'm using, it's either a flicker or it'll hang around long enough to actually read it. Sadly, they're never even mildly amusing pop-up ads.

Jup may have put on some lbs since hanging up the skates, but he's not big.

Hopefully they move to Xenforo. Several other forums I participate at have gone that route and everything is so much better on the user end.

Here, I'd be happy to have the emojis work again!
 
Emojis are the least of my worries.

Just give me a page that loads quick enough to post a goal on gamethreads before the next one is scored.

Yeah that happens on mobile for me. Mild annoyance.

The long lag time tends to be on certain threads more often cause they are so big. Well that and apparently we, like Wisconsin, live in the mid 1990s.
 
How do you guys know this stuff?

There's a whole other world you kids live in. My god, I can barely wrap my mind around Skype.
