The biggest winner on deadline day has to be River Plate. The club will get about €25 million thanks to a sell on fee for Enzo Fernandez.

The englander's version of 'friday night lights' Chelsea/Fulham played to a 0-0 draw. Unless they both lost Brighton couldn't have gotten a better result.

Stupid of Casemiro to even be in the mix but what the hell was he thinking putting his hands on Hughes like that? Sets up a dramatic ending at Old Trafford.

The United States of Leeds lost 1-0 at Nottingham to remain in the relegation battle, only safe for now on goal difference.

Tottenham threw a wrench in City's title chase with a 1-0 win. Harry Kane scored and joined Shearer and Rooney as the only 200-goal scorers in the Premier League.

Oh, and Gio Reyna scored again. Three in four games off the bench. The depth is such at Dortmund that he's probably going to remain on the bench.

Manchester City executives were left stunned as Premier League legal papers were served at 10.15am this morning, announcing the charges over alleged financial rule breaches which could lead to a points deduction or expulsion from the top flight.

The charges against the reigning champions relate to financial information regarding revenue, details of manager and player remuneration, UEFA regulations, profitability and sustainability and co-operation with Premier League investigations.

A statement from the league said alleged breaches were committed from September 2009 to to the 2017-18 season and will now be referred to an independent commission.

Typical Daily Mail

"It is worth reminding readers that the people in charge are dirty Arabs not saintly English men, or even saintly but temporarily misguided Russians like Roman Abramowitz."

Is this normal cheating or Serie A level cheating?

Based on the report from Sky Sports, mostly regular cheating. No match fixing and only one club involved.

In the end it's unlikely City will face any meaningful punishment. Much of the evidence seems to originate from hacked documents, which City will argue can't be proven to be legitimate.

So University of Toledo will get a 5 year bowl ban for it?

The United States of Leeds have sacked Jesse Marsch. I wonder how psyched Weston McKennie is with this news.
I, for one, can't wait for the people who called Gregg Berhalter tactially inept, married to a system and a failed club manager to now tell us why Marsch will be a great hire for the USMNT...

Sheffield United vs Wrexham in an FA Cup replay in a few minutes. It will be on ESPN2 and ESPN+. Winner plays Tottenham.

ESPN complaining that Parkinson has only put out half his usual lineup against Sheffield and is resting quite a few (including Ollie Palmer) but it seems to be working. Scoreless at the half.

We don't always get a Hollywood ending.

Sheffield score the winner in the 94' and then another in the 96' to advance 3-1. Tottenham will go to Bramall Lane.
