What area of Saginaw did you move to? I'm familiar with pretty much the whole county and can tell you where the fun/interesting stuff is.

Re: Yooper Slapfight, Round 2: NMU at Michigan Tech, Saturday, Jan. 21

the township. and are you sure your idea of fun and interesting is the same as mine?

Just wondered. I was worried you were stuck in the East Side or something. That's not a good place to be. Township is okay, though.

And granted, it is Saginaw, so "fun and interesting" is kind of a bad description. Midland is nice. Plenty of stuff to do there thanks to Dow Chemical being farking loaded with cash. Bay City has the biggest bar district, though Old Town in Saginaw is nice. Western half of the county is all farmland and small farm communities - you'd go nuts out in Hemlock or Brant. Hemlock also has a semiconductor plant along with Dow Corning, so that area's taking off really fast.

/also, Dow Corning is a huge donor to Michigan Tech :P

actually, yeah. we have four white-throated capuchins: nick, betsy, mouka and grasshopper. although, my favourites are the otter, the bobcat and the serval

CAPUCHINS?! They' *ing rule! Yes, I'm serious, no I'm not a crackpot. Well, maybe the latter part is partially true....

I for one, will be glad when this series is for points.
Weather should be clear tomorrow for anyone driving from Marquette.

Just do one thing for me: take M-46 out to the village of Hemlock, stop at a little place called the Farmer's Home Tavern, and have a burger. THIS IS THE BEST BURGER IN THE STATE. I WILL NOT ENTERTAIN DISCUSSION ON THIS.

no, its Don's Drive In in Traverse City hands down

From my experience with burgers in the state of Michigan, the bar isn't set very high.

I think Tech will win tonight. They're at home and they have momentum from the UAA weekend while the Cats are coming off a tie and a loss with MSU. Both teams have four players with 15 or more points on the season, but Tech's scoring depth is deeper. If Tech's goaltending is solid tonight and they don't take dumb penalties, they should win. I expect the boys are ****ed about the last loss at Marquette and Mel will have them ready to redeem themselves. A win tonight would definitely be good for Tech before heading to a tough series in Duluth.

I can't wait to see what the Fake Bill Muckalt has to say about this game on Twitter.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. Tech at home with revenge on their minds is a scary thing. I expect the Cats to be in the penalty box a lot tonight. The last few times I've been there they had to kill lots of penalties.

Nevertheless my family and I will be there right behind the Cat bench cheering them on.

GO CATS!!!

Not really sure what to expect tonight - the Tech team that played with BC in Detroit for 60 minutes and didn't get bounces, or the Tech team that lost 6-3 at home to Mankato. I know which one needs to show up to get a win.
