Yale vs RPI 11/6/09

Re: Yale vs RPI 11/6/09

Resisted the urge to follow the game tonight, but very very happy to see this result!! Way too be, big game tomorrow.

Re: Yale vs RPI 11/6/09

Strange game-outshot rather badly and I would guess 75% of the game played in the RPI zone-somehow we survived defensively and we now have enough offense to take advantage of every chance-we score 5 which we did not do all that often the past couple years

I believe Patrick Culle has been given credit for RPI's 4th goal instead of Chase Polacek-I am not sure yet but that is what it shows at collegehockeystats. Nice to see the scoring beginning to spread around. Would love to have at least some scoring from all the lines(We know we'll get scoring from the freshman line)

Re: Yale vs RPI 11/6/09

Just got back from the game, and I can tell you, this team plays as a team. Passing that I haven't seen from an RPI team in years.
They skate the puck out of their end and they have a plan.
For the first two periods, we played very well and in control of the game. For just a few minutes at the beginning of the second period, we let down and gave up the tying goal. Once we scored to go ahead 3-2, we played very well.
And in the third period after it became 4-2, we sat back and played a kind of prevent defense. I was very worried at that point. Surprisingly, when we scored the 5th goal, we went back on the attack. Very encouraging. The shots on goal were not indicative of the actual play. They had a lot of shots on the power play, but not a lot of great chances. York did make a few very fine saves, but that is what he is there for.
A very satisfying win. :D

Lee also got an assist on the last goal -- his first point.

This team is very, very good.

What a friggin difference. I know I've said this repeatedly, but they just leave me flabbergasted at all times. What a pleasant form of hockey they play and the results are just awesome right now.

I'm getting to be dangerously overboard on being a fanboy of this squad.

I totally agree. :D

A couple notes from the peanut gallery. BTW EHF, I was in about Herkimer by the time you made that post, so I didn't know where you were. I ended up in section 33 right behind the visitor's penalty box.

Burgdoerfer's penalty..... most likely called because he's Burgdoerfer. Kennedy's interference: textbook, and extremely stupid. Foss's penalty after the goal: COMPLETELY made up.

Did I miss the second goal? Yes. Guess I'll have to go back to RPI TV to see it.

Terrific game to watch, we took the 3rd period by force despite what that Yale goon #22 was doing, he flipped his lid.

Black Friday - Still Undefeated.
