Yale - The best team in the country?

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

You absolutely cannot and should not factor in results from previous seasons when determining rankings for a current season. The only exception is the original poll where the only comparable data is the perception of incoming recruits, and how voters think teams can continue success with the remaining players from the previous year's squad. A month into the season, last year's success and whether a team is veteran or not is a total non-factor when discussing and creating poles.

Exactly, factor in the loss to Air Force Academy and I would say not that Yale is not the best team in the country.

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

The Bulldogs are getting plenty of respect. After a split with UND at the Ralph, one of the toughest arenas to play, the voters kept them at #2. 11 first place votes, too. Hm. But what does that have to do with some pathetic little Ivy team?

Apparently some to think that Yale is a great team after beating the weak sisters of the poor. Losing to AFA won't help either. That is an impressive crescendo for the Yale team this past weekend.

Beating CC will definitely help them in the PWR, though. Not too many PWR teams will have Atlantic teams as common opponents, side from the other ECAC teams, MAYBE a few Hockey East ones, but since a lot of WCHA teams are TUCs, it's a good COP point. I haven't looked at everyone's schedule to know for sure, but I don't see their Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ;) going too far from where it would be had they won.

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

If Air Force loses to them again, rumor has it they send Dirty an AIC jersey.

That one AIC bastard went and died or something instead of fullfilling his end of our bet, there's no reason to believe Obama wouldn't disband the Air Force just to deprive me of the jersey.

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

I wonder if this thread will resurface if Yale ever plays a team that is ranked?

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

Well, this weekend we play 2 ranked teams, so we won't have to wait too long for an answer.
Spare us the sarcasm, and tune in on ESPNU on Sunday. At that point I give you 2 questions as food for
thought: 1. Are they not a FUN (and TALENTED) team to watch?
2. Doesn't Broc Little belong in any serious Hobey Baker conversation?
Go Bulldogs!!!!!!

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

After the whuppin' we put on 'em last year, absolutely! :D

You betcha, ABSOLUTELY, FlagDUDE. Welcome aboard The Good Ship Bulldog. What about my interrogatory.... Part Deux?
The LITTLE part about Broc? Devise a strategy to keep the best tandem of forwards in college hockey of the score sheet and O'Neill,
Cahill, and Miller take over the game. And how about Ryan Rondeau..... on a day when Kincaid was virtually deified by Barry Melrose,
it was he who got lit up 5 times while Rondeau pitched the shut-out. Shades of Worcester and the Fighting Sioux last March!!!? Finally,
how about Matczak, Jasko, The Peeler, and to borrow a line from Walt Whitman...... O Captain, My Captain (that's Jimmy Martin for you
folks playing at home!!!!!

Doc? Are you into the mescal tonight, you are absolutely giddy, for good measure I might add! I actually walked right into Melrose between periods, he is even greasier looking in person.

Hey LT...... that's libel per se..... but I'm inclined to let it go (since you're a Yale fan). I don't need any psychedelics...... all I needed today was my VIZIO....oh,and of course, my favorite blue-eyed blonde by my side!

Re: Yale - The best team in the country?

Blue eyed blondes are always good, I happen to be married to one myself. Sorry if I offended, just joking.

You realize that he was talking about RPI beating Yale last year, right?
