Yale Off Season 2013-2014 "That was fun... May we have another?"

Re: Yale Off Season 2013-2014 "That was fun... May we have another?"

Another bolt to the pros is also possible. Not surprising for a team that has brought home the hardware everyone wants.

Never say never. However, I am almost positive that everyone is in for next year. Flagdude, who do you see as perhaps "bolting?"

I'm not sure. I'm just saying it's possible, and that may be why it seems as if Allain is overloading the deck.

I think the numbers on defense would explain O'Keefe. My feeling on Hayden is that he is going to be a relatively high draft pick this June and Yale doesn't want to give him an opportunity to re-think where he plans to play the next few years. Just speculation on my part...

There are no Yale forwards that I see falling into the category of leaving early or considering leaving early. If I am missing a possibility here, please let me know. Agostino was the primary possibility, and he has committed to stay for his Senior year. Root is Captain, and I don't see any other forwards who would be ready for that move. (Not to mention that the Ivies, and Yale in particular, rarely fall victim to early departures.)

I think Yale Dad is right about the D possibilty, but I have not seen anything yet about O'Keefe coming early. I would be surprised with Hayden. It doesn't make much sense to me. Stranger things have happened with recruits.

Meet and greet in Florida

http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2013/may/02/mens-hockey-yale-coach-comes-to-naples-to-meet/

Florida Gulf Coast University was America’s Darling during the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, but Yale became the true underdog tale this spring in the NCAA men’s hockey tournament.

Although Yale and FGCU were established 288 years apart, their stories are quite similar. An inspiring coach leads an underdog to a greater height than anyone imagined. Unlike the Eagles, who reached the Sweet 16, the Yale Bulldogs reached the pinnacle — winning the university’s first NCAA hockey championship.

Yale hires Jason Guerriero as the new Asst. Coach to replace Red Gendron.

Class of 2017

Eight incoming freshmen make up Yale's class of 2017. It's a group filled with size, talent and, according to coach Keith Allain, character. There are two goalies, one defenseman and five forwards.

I stand corrected. John Hayden is coming. I'm surprised, because that means at least 17 forwards(Killian played forward in the NCAA's). However, O'Keefe answers the defensemen numbers question. He makes 7 on the roster. It looks like a great class.

Well Hayden is certainly a Yalie, because he can't fight, takes a punch though, good jaw on the kid.

That's what your travel partner is for, except for the part where they're turning into Cornell and flopping like flounders. Stick to your fast-paced game. We like it. :D

That fight wasn't even close. I believe Woods plays with Lincoln, can't remember where he's committed. I remember there being a confusion between Wood and Woods at the game I attended.

Woods committed to UA_. I think that you know where Wood committed. ;)

Incoming Freshman goalie Alex Lyon is further evidence of the Yale can't fight tradition, but they say he is a heck of a goalie. This video reminds me of the the old New haven Blades, Slapshot era.

There was nothing quite like a New Haven Blades-Clinton Comets brawl at the New Haven Arena.........and for some reason, the score of the game always seemed to be 8-6.

Hockey Haven, written by New Haven Register reporters Chip Malafronte and Jim Shelton, tells the inside story of how skill, hard work and smart planning brought the two teams to that night in Pittsburgh.
