Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Believe me , you probably know more than we do. We won't know anything until Friday night. You get a pass on the Peltz disappearance, it's a long story. With a couple of trips up there this year hopefully you will get to see Yale in action. Keep up the good work.

Many thank yous. Yale's probably one of my top five teams to watch since they're always exciting. Plus road trips to New Haven rank as one of my more favorite trips. I know it's cliche but Frank Pepe's and hockey at the Yale Whale are always good decisions. Plus you guys always have good crowds.

I'll never forget the trip down there for the Brown playoff series a few years ago (which I was working...well before I launched the site). The sound system in Ingalls was fantastic - when Yale came out to Disturbed, I think that song made its way onto several workout mixes after that because the building vibrated with the bass. It was unreal atmosphere with that and the crowd.

Heading to Bright on Saturday and looking forward to finally seeing this year's team in action. Go Yale!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Bummed to have to cancel the trip out East this weekend due to other hockey obligations in Minnesota. Loved going last year to both Dartmouth (several beers and laughs with Jeff Graham and the Goggin family) and Harvard (toasting Ivy Hockey lore in the Crimson Room with Harvard Legend Billy Cleary and Crimson Hockey parents Marshall Everson and Matt Killorn). Great hosts in both rinks and just a blast watching and talking about Ivy Hockey! Go Dawgs!

Wish I could attend one of the games this weekend, but my work with the Fire Department in West Haven will most likely keep me home. There is a a .00001 percent chance that I can sneak up to Hahvahd.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I'd expect to see Malcolm tonight. Going into the weekend, I thought Allain would give each guy a chance and I don't think that'll change after last night.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

Great 5-1 win tonight at Bright. The Bulldogs dominated for much of the game, particularly during the first period and the end of the third, with excellent passing. Freshman are looking surprisingly good, especially Stu Wilson, who is very quick and can make things happen. There are still some holes defensively, but they are closing. Malcolm played very well, and they got lucky at key moments. Looking forward to our first home games next weekend!

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I watched the game online on a very decent feed from Harvard. Yale came out with a jump in thier step and seemed to beat the Crimson to almost every puck for most of the night. the forecheck kept the very good harvard defensemen from breaking out cleanly which resulted in many of Yales chances. This game was much more lopsided than the score in Yales favor. Malcolm was great when he had to be, especially with the glove. Agostino, Root and Miller were playing great possession hockey and some of Millers passes and assists were better than the goals they produced. First time seeing Stu Wilson and he looks to be the real deal, with impressive puck handling skills, great team effort all around. See everyone Friday night. Yale needs to not overlook clarkson while awaiting a VERY good SLU team.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I was just looking at the KRACH and RPI rankings on this site and was surprised to see that Yale had been ranked as having the the second highest strength of schedule in both polls. They are playing some highly ranked teams this year, but that ranking is usually in the middle of the pack for Yale.

Any word on status of Matt Killian? Injury issue? I believe Nicholas Weberg has been cleared to practice.

Re: Yale Bulldogs Hockey - 2012-2013

I'd expect Malcolm tomorrow, but Allain likes to play the hot hand. I bet Maricic will get another chance to start down the road...
