Yale 2025-26

The season is just over two-ish months away, and so it's time for a new thread!

The compiler of the useful schedule document available on the 25/26 Schedules thread made the interesting find that Ivy League teams can play one more game this year than previous years. They are allowed 8 non-conference games rather than 7. Not sure who all features on Yale's non-conference schedule yet, but it will include home games against Robert Morris in October, as well as the Nutmeg Classic just after Thanksgiving, per other teams' sites and the schedule doc.

Forward Carina DiAntonio has been elected Yale's captain this season, per the team's announcement in April.

Non-conference schedule so far from the schedule doc (home games in blue):
Oct 17-18 Robert Morris
Nov 28-29 Sacred Heart (at UConn) and UConn/Quinnipiac

Yale women's ice hockey also announced that Oct 24 vs Quinnipiac and Oct 25 vs Princeton will be an alumnae/i weekend.

Seven incoming first-years are welcomed this week!

Looks like the non-conference schedule has shaped up - visible thanks to the schedule document:
Fri Oct 17 - Sat Oct 18 Robert Morris
Tue Nov 4 at 6PM at St. Anselm
Tue Nov 25 at 1PM at Princeton (repeat of last year's non-conference now at Princeton)
Fri Nov 28 at 6:30PM vs Sacred Heart (at UConn - Nutmeg)
Sat Nov 29 at 3PM/6:30PM vs UConn or Quinnipiac (at UConn - Nutmeg)
Perhaps Tue Jan 6 Northeastern
Mon Jan 19 at 6PM Providence

(game times from other teams' sites!)

Hello, Yale!

I do 3 Stars Posts for games played at the OSU Ice Rink. My post for the Yale/UMD NCAA game is now complete. It’s available on the Ohio State thread.

You may have an interest. If so, check it out!

Yale's loss to Ohio State brought to an end a positive season.
Some good developments:
overtime, high-scoring wins against Colgate and Princeton early in the season; in January, wins against Northeastern and others, with 10 regulation wins that month(!); far exceeding league expectations for where the team finished the regular season, co-champions with Princeton; their strong showing in the ECAC playoffs, including the 7-2 win against Cornell in the semis with 6 players scoring goals; and a further strong showing in the national tournament, with 2 goals by Molly Boyle and the win vs Duluth.
Samson Frey is a great prospect in net, consistently keeping Yale in it, and Yale had some good goaltending play across the 3 netminders. DiAntonio captained the team with evidently good team cohesion. Ray was excellent with setup, fast skating, and passing. Special teams have been outstanding - the power play progressing a lot since the season before.
