He also commissioned and/or premiered new pieces from Bartok, Stravinsky, Bernstein and Aaron Copland; and all those pieces are still in the standard repertoire. Amazing guy. Not the friendliest, but amazing nonetheless.

This may be the best name for a poll yet, since this may well be the #1 Worthless offseason poll. As other have pointed out, his divisions of genre is seriously flawed and terribly limited by his own experience and tastes. I wouldn't even stoop to vote in this worthless poll. :p

Besides the fact that I like (and own) cds of all genres of music except country and classical? (some may surprise you, like Sun Ra, Bo Diddley, Parliament, Elvis, Squirrel Nut Zippers, etc).

It's a worthless poll, continuing the "worthless poll" tradition in the off-season. Don't like it? Create your own dang poll! :D

Gospel is another genre that is very popular in some circles, and Bluegrass deserves its own space as well.

some of these distinctions I don't get, though....
