World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

When I was in England two years ago, every soccer fan believed they'd get one of the bids (2018 or 2022) to the point that they were talking about some infrastructure improvements (Light Rail and Tube upgrades). Too bad for them, I think the country would have been a ton of fun for that month.
Them or Austrailia. Either one of them would have been a lot better than Qutar, which was flat out stolen.

Remember that England wasn't in the running for 2022, with 2018 going to Europe and all.

LeBron James wearing a Liverpool jacket at the press conference last night confirmed that I never want him to win an NBA Title. :D

What did the Blackpool officials do to get (by far) the worst score in the EPL?
Who knows. The worst thing that I new about Blackpool was that banner that was flown over PNE's last game in the Championship. And that wasn't even officials. And it was at worst cheeky.
Yeah, I don't know, there seems to be a lot of wiggle room in those rankings if the Premier League wanted to manipulate the results. I like the way Blackpool play, it would've been nice to see them rewarded for it. (Better them than Stoke, certainly.)

That's the only way Liverpool may even sniff a title. :D

(Ducks the flying object that TBA will surely throw at him)

Just an FYI, USA vs Canada in 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup action a week from Tuesday at Ford Field. Really tempted to go to that.

You would think that LBJ would opt for a much dooshier team, like Man U, Chelsea or Inter. If he was the kind of guy that was okay with pulling for a team that isn't going to have any success for the better part of the next decade, he would've stayed in Cleveland.

Or Barca or Real Madrid. :D

Brad Freidel's fake accent is the best part of this FOX pregame. Not saying much.

I guess you could toss AC Milan onto the list of genuinely insufferable power clubs in the world. Some might include Bayern, but I actually kind of like them.
AC Milan is definitely my least favorite of the three teams I actively dislike, Milano, Real Madrid, and ManU in that order. FOX is playing the NFL music for the Champions League final, which I find humorous. They also said the Champions League bigger the THE World Cup, which I strongly disagree with.

So I'm guessing from the reaction on Twitter and here I can just fast forward through the pregame show?

They clearly set out with the goal of selling the match to non-fans, which I can sort of see the reasoning behind, but my goodness did they do it in a stupid way.

Solid, but not spectacular tifos by both teams' fans. I'm more impressed by ManU's just because English fans generally don't do the tifo thing as much.

Was ManU a bit offside on Rooney's goal???

A bit. The guy's arm and head were offside. I hate the rule so I'm just fine with it not being called.
Of course, it's a rule, so it should be called...on this matter I'll gladly accept that I'm a hypocrite.
