Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Little change of tack here: Even if Villa or any other English club offered Bradley a job, would he have to go through the work permit headaches that non-European players do?

Yup. If he were going to work as a mechanic, a businessman, a plumber, or a football coach, he still needs a work permit if he's non-EU.

He would have to get a work permit, but he wouldn't be subject to the rules that a player is subject to.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Union backups beat Chivas (Mex) backups 1-0. Jack McInerny scored again...he is doing pretty well for a 17 year old. Union put a 15 year old Union U17 club player out there for the last few minutes...since he was a local boy he got a big welcome.

Either way, aren't the rules based on % of appearances for the national team? That wouldn't be an issue.

Those are the rules for players. I don't believe they apply for coaches.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

So I bought a Portsmouth FC kit for like $30 on EBay. I'm pumped, even though they are headed very quickly to League 1 at this rate. :(

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Hehe. Why?

I mentioned a few pages/threads back that the my team is Portsmouth.

I haven't followed EPL for too long, less than a year, but there's something about Portsmouth I like, and I've been following them more than anyone...until they were relegated, there's very little coverage for Championship League. Still, despite how terribly things are being handled, they are my team.

I wish it was their Black 3rd Kit, THOSE are awesome. Still, the Blue Home Kit is pretty nice.

Euro 2012 qualifying today:

Israel 3 - Malta 1

Benayoun had 3. Every competition they rope me in...

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

I'm rooting for Wales, Belgium, and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Euro qualifiers.

It's going to be tougher to root against England now that they've called in a bunch of City players, but I assure you I will find a way:D

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

First match of the day is underway, Armenia-Ireland. 0-0 late in the first half.

No really interesting games today, Belgium-Germany maybe?

The "Royally Screwed by History" Bowl.

If Germany plays their traditional Schlieffen offense they'll be fine.
