I don't think at this level a shooter gets enough time and space to pick it up and fling it before getting clobbered.
The ladies have a lot more time and space than the guys do.

I can buy that. It's opponent dependent as well. I wonder if Watts could have tried it against NE instead of banking it off the goalie. They were just staring at her.

Funny story..... Last Sunday the hockey game overlapped with a birthday get- together for my sister at my house. My middle child when the game is 2-0 says to me "Why are you so intense Dad? They're going to win, they are winning by 2 goals in the third period." BAM. They score. BAM they score again. "Sorry Dad". If he hadn't produced the most cute granddaughter on the planet I would have threw him out of the house. It was all Lyndon's fault it came to that. Accept our apologies. Of my three kids, he's the least hockey-centric one. But I still love him, but I didn't 10 minutes on Sunday.

This post made me feel old. I 'd bet 75% + of the posters on the women's threads are 50+ years old. Now I feel even older. For the record I think we are up to 21 or 22 posters now. It's crazy to think I started posting here in 2003. I saw an advertisement by USCHO in a Sports Illustrated I was reading at the dentist office. I tore it out of the magazine and stuck it in my pocket. Now you all know who to blame as to how I got here.I'm going to have to challenge you on that
I will rescind that my granddaughter is the cutest one on the planet, it was a bit over the top, and I'll tempered it down to the cutest granddaughter in the WCHA. You can have glory of AC.

My youngest granddaughter is 12, and my oldest granddaughter is 26 - yeah, I'm right around 50+
