Besides scoring a hat trick, Gorbatenko was lining up next to LaMarche and keeping her from getting any sort of 'quick start' off and away from the faceoff, and it was clearly annoying and frustrating LaMarche. The rest of the D corps were also quite aware of where she was and when she tried to cherry pick. Experience with defending Murphy no doubt helped.

On on the Tank's third goal it was a great rush up ice and pass by Jones. Jones took what they gave her and had great vision on the pass. She was the one losing out to Edwards on D.
Edwards best push was her first shift, she took the puck right to the net. Don't know what she was trying to pass there or shoot but it I don't think it got on net, but a really nice play.
Kind of silly that your best strategy is to cherry pick LOL. If you're putting your eggs in that basket, you've got problems.
The Tank's post game interview was awesome. She is a leader through and through. Multiple times she said. How would it's most important to play good defense first, love that. We were talking about how she seems to be more of a shooter than a passer, but she said in the interview that MJ wants her to shoot more. She's just following orders LOL. Next year it would be interesting if she was on a same line with Pieckenhagen. She's the tank 2.0 in training. Two super heavy playing forwards on the same line.

This strikes me as kind of a crazy stat: I was thinking about Gorbatenko's penchant for multiple goal games. On Saturday, I said the person next to me after the first goal "when she gets one, she often gets more than one."
She has ten games this year with a single goal, and seven games with more than one goal.

Looks like they attempted it last year and then canceled. Don't know if they'll try again. If they can't do it, shame on ESPN.

For anyone going to the final four (I'm not), I notice that the UW softball team is playing at Penn State this weekend. So if you're looking for something to do on the 'off day' Saturday ...

The PodKaz was very thorough in the things-to-do category toward the end of today's episode. Honestly, I thought it was a reach but give them credit for trying.

It's a bar for women's sports. Hard to imagine there's anything more interesting to local women's sports fans than the Badgers in the Frozen Four. Could be wrong, though.
