Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Is it fair say that Minnesota is completely stuck in its State of Hockey traditions and has no clue that the state of hockey has left them in the dust? If so, let's hope the trend continues.

The radio broadcast of the Rodent-TWSNBN game provides ample evidence of the trend. Including having a funeral home as a prime sponsor of the programming.

She has led the WCHA in total penalty minutes for the last three years; one year she doubled the minutes of the second -most penalized players. This year she's just behind the leader in minutes, but leads in number of penalties taken.

If part of the award is 'character" etc, I don't think the most penalized player should get the award.
Murphy with two penalties taken so far puts her in the lead for most minutes this year, and on track for her four-pete leading the WCHA.

Do they not have a clue? Some Minnesota fans are upset they aren't recruiting enough from in-state.

Legend of KK continues to grow. A sweet finish to start the scoring, a couple more assists...and then the closing action. Didn't see what happened but she was shaken up down in our corner with about 5 mins left. Skated off very slowly. Guessing a stick came up high and might have gotten under her mask? Well, either way she knew who it was and took note of it.
On TV, it looked like the culprit was (I think) #26 in Cardinal and White.

At least half of MSU's best chances were because she was out of position, turned the puck over or was too slow.

I know we're beating a dead horse here, but I can't believe these coaches don't see it.

Oh yeah and this just in... Murphy is cheap AF. Completely out of control in this game. I hope we don't play Minnesota again this year. Don't need to see her ever again.

Where's that Gopher poster who was saying Simms is the same way? Lol

And Laila was a complete non-factor offensively. Some of that was no power plays, where she could be the 4th forward, but still. She led the nation in goals last year!

There are other sports where SWSNBN can score points by diving. Maybe SWSNBN should pursue a professional career in Acapulco instead of the PWHL. Good riddance.
Murphy cost her team the game.. her constant flopping, and 3 penalties sealed the deal for OSU.
Such a shame that she goes full on psycho when her team needs her the most

One other thought on Edwards....her partner is Potter, who is the most rushy offensive D next to KK. She is pretty much muted being forced to be the first player back. The next game is the last Dr appointment before the big procedure, I hope the staff properly diagnose the situation.

Admittedly, I didn't see all of the game. However, I didn't see any point where UM looked like they were going to win. tOSU was just better. Yes, Murphy is completely out of control, but it would help matters if a teammate or two would at least show up in the shot when the puck is in the O-zone. Either the game plan wasn't executed, or there never was one.

We were watching the bench and were relieved to see her put her helmet back on and come back out for a shift a few mins later. Puck drops, she skated straight over and lights the Maverick player up. Figured it was worth a penalty at that point, but the ref just looked at it and apparently said "**** it, I'm not calling anything." 😂

Kind of hoping they find the whistles for Saturday. It was a pretty clean game today, bit there were zero penalties called and a few trips that seemed like they could have generated some power plays. The kind of game where Murph might have avoided about 12 minutes of deserved box time.
Welcome aboard!

The way they were calling the game yesterday I don't think Little Ms Sassy Skates would have even got a penalty. The KK non-call was ridiculous.

Duluth looks to be locked in at #10 in the NPI, so the question becomes whether #10 will be part of the NCAA field.

For #10 to NOT make the field requires a team from outside the top ten to win their conference tournament. Well, tonight Hockey East played their semi-finals, and top ten teams UConn and Northeastern both won. That is, such an 'outside the top ten' team is not going to come from Hockey East.

Still possible for Mercyhurst to bump Duluth by beating Penn State on Saturday, or for Cornell to pull off back-to-back upsets in the ECAC. But Duluth is a step closer to making the field at #10.
Cornell losing today to Yale means the only way left for Duluth to be bumped out of the tournament is for Mercyhurst to upset Penn State on Saturday.

I do appreciate all the times that you run the numbers and share your findings with us lazy folks. What does the bracket look like now if the chalk holds the rest of the way? (asking for a friend -- as if I have any.)

Wisconsin and Ohio State #1 and 2, depending on who wins tomorrow. Penn State #3. Minnesota #4 or 5; Northeastern 4,5, or 6; UConn 5,6, or 7; ECAC filling 7,8,9, and probably the winner has a chance at #6. Duluth #10 unless Mercyhurst.

So the top and bottom are fairly well-know, the middle is still a jumble. But a UConn win gets the Gophers the #4 vs #5 at Ridder.

So those of us who don't want the Badgers to have to face Gascon any more this season are rooting for Mercyhurst? I thought at one point a Mercyhurst win would also put Pedophile State on the road for the first part of the tournament but I guess that is no longer the case.

The other way of avoiding a #10 Duluth is to be the #1 seed.

Just win tomorrow, baby.
