Wisconsin Offseason 2021: Regression to the mean?

I’ve noticed on a lot of his plays that he’s just really good at sneaking into open spaces. And his diminutive stature does kind of help him slip around. He’s got a gift for it.

Cole Caufield with a nice goal tonight. A lot of people talk about his size being a factor for scoring in the NHL. I don't see it. He's gonna be a great point producer even if he gets outmuscled in the corner.

Some guys just have this crazy ability to be in a great spot to score frequently. Some guys never seem to be in the right spot. It's crazy. My biggest concern for Goal is some goon crunching him and he ends up being hurt.

The game 4 OT winner vs Winnipeg is a great example of this. Snuck out of a 2v2 board battle and dished the puck to Toffoli for the winner.

It'll be a sad day if he ever gets hurt. The NHL does feel like it is moving away from big hits, so that is hopefully good news for Cole

Also, he's got another assist tonight. 6 points in the playoffs. Really annoys me that Minnesota never put in Boidy against Vegas while icing some really bad players (Johansson, Bjugstad to name two). Young players can't shine if they are not given the chance.

I considered it, but I am wary of the sightlines being too flat and I don't like the parking arrangements in that area. I'll spend the coin on a home game or 2 and sit right where I want to.

I went center ice, top row just because of the sightline issue. no second level seats open yet, but first row 2nd deck would probably be good...

And no one behind you.

Yes, the first row 2nd deck is my preferred spot at the KC, it probably be good at the BC too.

That could make things really interesting. I’ve struggled to be a fan of Tony and it’s hard to tell if he was improving as a college coach or if he just got lucky with two returning studs and losing two defensive disasters.

Couldn't agree more. Would they just hire Osiecki? Would they go outside the program for a proven winner like Mike Hastings, or go to a guy like Tim Coughlin at St Norberts, or a guy like Chris Brooks from UWSP / now Mi Tech? Or really reach for a young up and comer like Tyler Krueger at UWSP. He's probably too young, but he could be a stud coach.

From that list I’d go with either Coughlin or Brooks. I’m a little skeptical on Krueger, though I do have some great recent memories at KB Willett (2019 championship, first undefeated D3 team). Having class with some of their better players during the 2019 run was also pretty cool. They did seem to take a step back once Ryckman transferred to be a backup goalie for Northern Michigan. Brooks built up a great winning culture at UWSP and I’d love to see what he can do in Madison.

Sorry, won't catch me downtown. A friend is a bucks fan. He was mugged by 3 armed thugs and took everything he had on him. It took MPD 15 minutes to respond because of troubles on Water st. He's had friends get their vehicles broken into and panhandlers are everywhere down there.

I went to college in Milwaukee and lived there 6 years. Great town. Freaking amazing. Tons of fun and lots of good people live there. I did have my car broken into when I was a freshmen. But you'll have that sometimes in a big city. No need to be scared as long as you don't go to the bad parts of town.

I wouldn't move back there because of traffic though.

Another Badger will be on the Stanley cup. I'm rooting for McD. I've never liked the Canadiens going back to the Roy in goal days. I guess if I was ever going to get into the quest for the cup this would be the time.
