Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Jurusik is in goal again tonight. I think MM has found the goalie that he wants to ride until the ship comes to port, the mule climbs the mountain, the dog pees on the flagpole, etc.

As far as a prediction? I would guess that 1 UW win and 1 tie wouldn't be a shock, although Bucky losing both wouldn't stun me either.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

That Boston College shot is pretty telling isn't it? That's how the KC should look for hockey but we don't have a coach who will bring in more banners and we don't have an administration that would allow UW to showcase them like Boston does.

Perspective is everything here.

Rockwood not playing tonight, Zirbel is. Centering Ustaski and McGuire.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Not even enough students to fly the flag during the anthem. Ushers had to help hold it up.

So, I know there is a game going on, but a little birdie mentioned Chris Brooks' named mentioned as a possible replacement if Eaves gets canned. Anyone else hear that name at all?

He does have a great record in his 4 years at Stevens Point, but hadn't heard that name at all to this point.

Very successful. Been to a lot of UWSP games and all have been entertaining. Haven't heard any rumblings of him leaving UWSP.
Phew! i was worried that the badgers weren't any good this year :)
First win feels nice!

Fifty-six total shots, most since Feb of 2010 (63 vs tech) Nice change of pace, but not going to get my hopes up.

Well, they took care of business when they were supposed to, and that's where you start.

You could tell UW was just a stronger team, which is to be expected. I did not like the goal Jurusik gave up, looked like he was trying to do too much and got out of position for the wrap around. The D didn't help him either on that play. UW made some nice plays and cashed in. Wags will be a stud by his Sr. year. He's got that nose for the net. Over all a good win that was expected.

1 down 1 to go. Hopefully they win 5-1 again.

then hire Don G:)

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

You guys were talking about atmosphere yesterday, and solo mentioned what it used to be like.

I've been to the Xcel Energy Center and the United Center a few times, but last night at the "X" was the most cranked up I've been at a hockey game in years. It reminded me of Badger games past. Yes it was a conference game, a close game, and the good guys won against the champs, but that place was electric. I thought about going to the Badgers tonight, but I'll stick to my guns and I don't want 4000 people (wishful thinking) in the stands to bring me down.

The state urinal stats showed about 6,000 in attendance; who was there, was there really 6,000?
