Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXIX: Yes, this is the Rumpel Rink!

Right, but your sources list Kelly as playing 34 NHL games and your question says 82 NHL games.

This is what happens when your quiz is not verified by Sporcle! :p

Ugh. I put all this in a spreadsheet (that I didn't save) and just copied/pasted into Sporcle. Not sure what happened when I tried sorting by games played. Or it could be that I mis-keyed it in Excel when I was collecting the data. Probably the latter.

Keep your eyes open for more mistakes. I'm sure this will be verified and vetted by the USCHO community before Sporcle even knows that it exists.

SNC 4 - UW 1

You heard it here.

Could very well be, but I just don't see why it wasn't made open to the public. I may be in the very small minority, but I would have paid $10 (general admission) to watch the game, especially with it being in the smaller confines of LaBahn Arena. Even if they lost, I wouldn't freak out about it.

Baggot says Hughes and Rockwood are centering the top two lines...

Eaves needs to screw the center defensive responsibility underclassman thing, stick Hughes and Rockwood at C, and sink or swim with them @ C. It can't get any worse, can it? It isn't like UW needs to protect weak goaltending with solid D play in front, let Rumps make 35 saves a game. If he stops 92% that's a gaa of 2.88. Maybe UW can score 2 to 3 goals a game with the young guys @ C instead of stymieing their creativity by playing wing and scoring less than 1 a game.

Timothy A --> Great hockey mind... Or Greatest hockey mind?!?

Aw, shucks. One good idea out of 6130 posts since 2002 is doing pretty darn good, eh? ;) That may have to go in my sig, I'll never see that comment again.

Nonetheless, it only netted 1 goal against a D3 team. Hopefully he keeps them together for a few weeks to get a little continuity. I like Soleway @ wing so he can crush people. Eaves was kinda wasting his physicalness @ C.

A cited factor was that it's unclear whether playing a game against a D-III opponent would affect the Badgers strength of schedule rating according to NCAA rules. The sensible thing would be for the NCAA to issue some sort of an exemption for this type of game to encourage it. Unfortunately, it turns out using the terms 'sensible' and 'NCAA' in the same sentence is also against NCAA rules.

What a strange arrangement.

The Badgers have nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Interesting Fact, Badger opponents this year have a combined record of 11-1-1; four of the wins have come against the Badgers.

That's odd as there have been six or seven DI/DIII exhibition games over the past five years and none have affected the DI's SOS.

Plus, is opp win % the main driver in DI SOS? If so, were the game actually counted, playing SNC would only help as its going to go 25-5-1 again.

Edit: Or the most likely scenario, which is that whoever made such a claim has absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

SOS is only affected by games against D-I teams. This "scrimmage" is the same as a game against the U-18 team.

Last I heard, SNC was leading 4 - 1.
