Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Badgers picked up the pace the last 10 minutes of the second quite a bit. Besse is having Maroon and Gold flashbacks.

Nice to see Chase Drake get the tally. Sparty has been laying back in the weeds so much... but they're going to have to come at us now. Like to see the top line get something going in transition and put this one away.

Let's GO Red!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Winning streak! Let's goooooooooo! I had an awesome look at Chase Drake's goal - I could see the lane and the open space to Hildebrand's right and the screen in front of Hildebrand (couldn't see his eyes), and sure enough, Drake took advantage of that screen.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the giveaways were awesome this game - free snacks from Fresh Madison Market, and cheap plastic replica old-school goalie masks. I'll be wearing that on the outdoor rinks tomorrow.

Badgers win. Drake scores. Labate's knee is ok (that looked bad at first). I saw WiscDC on TV...that was you with the pink shirt and black vest, right?

;)

I was the one in the Badgers jersey - you can't miss it!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Not a bad game at all. I was smelling a s/o, then Dougherty took that dumb penalty. No blatant disregard for defensive assignments the whole game. Too bad it took like 25 games to get that right.

The first period, though uberdefensive, wasn't a bad watch for me personally (maybe I was just glad to see them not screw up or get dominated). I would have liked Andringa to do some grease pen breakdowns on how each team was trapping and how each team was trying to defeat it. Kelly has made too many errors in the broadcasts the last 2 times he as called a game with what classes guys are in and who wore what number last year.

Besse did a lot very good things last night besides use that awesome shot of his. He did a lot of dirty work getting possession of the puck, and made that great play to get the primary assist on the 2nd goal. Rumps was very good as well.

I was shocked by both teams in that when the puck was dumped in on a one on one, the defending player just let the attacker skate right by and barely touch the them. Usually there was a lot more obvious rubbing of the attacker by the defender going on. It's almost like a memo went out saying ditch the interference in that situation. It was great to see, it really helped the flow.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Hello to all Badgers fans back in WI and beyond. I wanted to share that another college collector has consigned their game worn hockey jersey collection with me for sale and there are quite a few nice Badgers jerseys in the offering. I'm just posting the Badgers jerseys here, but you can see all of the jerseys at my site. If you have any questions, feel free to email me (info@johnsonsjerseys.net). If by chance any of you have a Michigan Tech game worn jersey, I would be happy to work out a trade with you. Other D-I teams would be considered as well.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

I'm not that old, but nothing makes me feel older than not being able to figure out how to get the Wisconsin Channel on my TV. I have Uverse, which doesn't carry any digital subchannels. Last year, I went out and got a newer antenna. Hooked that up and I can get NBC and CBS subchannels here in Madison. Nothing from PBS. Tried a 20-foot coax cable, absolutely nothing. I know it's available online, but the TV is much preferred.
