My takeaway from the game - the Badgers looked competent.

I think that overall we outplayed them and had more quality chances. Shots were pretty even, but a lot of Michigan's were from the perimeter and Rumps handled them easily. Agree that Rumps made some big saves in the first. He was screened and didn't appear to even see the second goal. Forward went down to block the shot and missed.

Several almost back door plays by the Badgers which could have opened the game up a bit had they connected. Great ice vision on each of these but always seemed to have a shooter on his off wing who got handcuffed. Cool to watch them develop though as they were right below me.

Also, the Badgers had good net presence tonight and at least a couple of the goals were a direct result of this. Some other good chances came from this too.

Besse had a nice shift on his goal.

Would have been a sweet goal if Soleway could have finished that one from his knees.


That was a fun game to be at and I think this whole BTHC is going to add a lot to the average conference game. Having Michigan on the schedule every season for 4 games is great.

Solid if not spectacular win. Great job getting it done.


Eavesism on the pregame: "This is the kind of game that you have to strap your helmet on just a little tighter."

Mersh had his battened down something fierce!

Oh yeah and the wife says to me after the 4th goal, "That should have been #5 for ice cream."

I replied that there's over a minute left and we could get another.

Oh yeah...there's a new graphic for that! On the video board, they had a bunch of animated ice cream/custard scoops and cones flying around.

I liked that too. Had a spotlight and graphic for the Phil-billy (Let's make some noise guy) too.

What is that dude yelling when you all respond "SUCKS!"

Can never quite make it out. I'm thinking it's the goalie's name?

Also pretty sweet that they made a bobble for a d-3 team.

I'm a sucker for bobbles of my teams/players as long as they're game day giveaways and not card shop stuff.

Have a Geoffrion one from when he was on the Admirals.


Wife calls them my doll collection.

He sure does, and wasn't even at full strength tonight (sinus infection). Neither was I, having just come off of an illness, so we tag-teamed the third period call. That's today's Crease Creature injury report. We'll see how everything holds up for tomorrow's hockey doubleheader.

Yeah, that was me. I did much better when I had name-calling duties during the Saturday CC game. :p

Now it's at 82. 25 were Michigan fans, and decided being insulted wasn't worth their time.
