Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

The cluelessness of the athletic department continues to bewilder me. It's Tuesday, and the hockey teams played this past weekend. On the Badger Rewind at tonight's basketball game, they announced Badger volleyball and women's basketball scores, but did not show

#12 Wisconsin -- 3
#8 Miami (OH) -- 2

Are your bball fans really that clueless to think Florida has a hockey team? I can't really speak for our bball fans, the 50 of them are following all of our buy games to pay for the hockey teams trips out west now :)

I included (OH) for 2 reasons -- 1) It seems pretty standard, though I always say "Miami" in a hockey context or "Miami University" in any context instead of "Miami of Ohio." But mainly 2) It made my text align more nicely.

To be fair, there are 5 pro teams and 5 junior teams in Florida. Maybe it would just be easier on everyone if they moved the school south.

Should be some great Badger Hockey tonight at the Prairie Palace.

I believe it's on TV too.

It's funny, growing up the only college Hockey on TV to be had at my house was watching the Badger replay on WPT. Tonight I have my choice of watching the Goofs vs. Ugly Dogs or the Plains People vs. the Barky Dogs... I imagine there are people in the world that would call that progress.

I was referring to the Badger women at North Dakota.

It's on FS-Wisconsin tonight.

That there is some progress!

Sadly, I am in sunny Florida at the moment and my rabbit ears are not getting FS-Wisconsin, (Haven't tried stringing up the tinfoil yet, though.) thus my choices are limited to the aforementioned. I may watch the goofs to practice hating on them for next week. Can never be too prepared.

I'd trade places with you so you could see the game. Heck, I'd throw in my men's tickets too.

Be down there in January, but that seems like a long way off. Eventually I'll have to follow in my family's footsteps and just move there. Parents in Naples, sister in Boca.

I'll be movin' to the lower Keys though...

Game will be on Fox College Sports Pacific as well if you get that.

Since I haven't been to a game in quite some time I'd probably take you up on that offer for awhile. I'm near Ft. Myers so not far from your folks, was in Boca last week. Florida is a great place to visit but a weird place to live. (Unless you're a retiree or an invasive species, then it's appears to be great.) Although I can't complain about the boat being in the water all winter...

Thanks Chuck! Actually, I believe if I hold a cookie sheet in my left hand while standing on one foot and touching the antenna, it comes in! Let's go Red!!!

I'll be in Ft Myers for work, but will also spend a few days over in Boca. Gonna do some diving, some beach and some fresh seafood eatin'. Can't wait!

Can't come down there and not get some recreation in. :)

As far as living there... the tropics (and the ocean) call. Can't resist forever and I've been here just about long enough.

If I don't end up there, it'll be SoCal, Hawaii or maybe the USVI.

It'll be a number of years yet though... :(

Look me up if you want, I do quite a bit of in-shore fishing that time of year and if I'm available I'm always happy to take a Badger out for a day on the water. Or you can ride* a Manatee! Dang things are everywhere in January.

*You cannot ride a manatee. Like everyone, we simply tell lies to make it sound better. Touching manatees is against state law.
