Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

I like this. I like this a lot. With Jefferson Dahl, and especially Jake McCabe, the team has ties to that town, and they'll get a chance to see them in action in person, which they otherwise wouldn't be able to do without a pretty long trip to Madison (or Minneapolis). It reminds me of the Washington Redskins holding training camp in Richmond this year. I see this as a good way to reach out to fans in other parts of the state. It's being hosted by (and will support) the Blugolds, which is nice, too.

Is this something that they'd be able to invite recruits to? If so, this works out well as far as having all of those recruits in the Twin Cities area.

There really isn't much major difference in driving from the Twin Cities to or from either city.

We've lost recruits from that area. Makes sense to try and have more presence there.

In addition, no one would care here and it might draw some interest there.

I like it.

Red-white scrimmage will be in Eau Claire, October 5th

I do love the location, but.....$15.00 for one 30 minute practice session, two 20 minute periods and autographs? Way to culitivate the fanbase. I understand proceeds go to UW Eau Claire hockey, but $15.00? A family of 4 is going to pay $60.00 for a practice/scrimmage? Wow. Is UW Eau Claire that hard up for money? I wouldn't pay more than $5.00 to see a scrimmage.

I believe I saw a retweet from Rob Andringa today that Ulvis Katlaps has died. I can't find it now, but will try...

from the junior admirals website:

Remembering Coach Ulvis Katlaps

It is with great regret today that I inform all that we have lost one of the best men I ever had the pleasure of calling friend, Coach Ulvis Katlaps.

All of our thoughts and prayers to his wife Kelly, son Zach and his daughter Sydney; and to all his family members and friends from here and his native Latvia who have supported him through his life and in his time of need. Our prayers, our thoughts and our fondest remembrances of Ulvis are with you all. May those players that have been involved with Coach Katlaps forever embody his spirit of determination, self sacrifice and love of the game.

Please allow the family time to reflect and heal. As arrangements are made for his remembrance we will provide the information to all in the hockey community.

Thank you,
Bob Delgadillo
MJA President

I'll be hosting a weekly podcast-ish type show online focused around badgers hockey this season. I was curious if you guys had any suggestions for things you'd like to hear/see on a possible show this year. I'm open to any and all ideas if you have them.

During the season I'd like it hear about any about any recruits that are visiting and where they may stand on the badgers big board.

Interviews with players and coaches are always nice, I guess.

That one is tough sometimes, as they keep that stuff pretty close to the vest. I'll hear names from time to time on visits from various sources, but for the most part we don't hear about 90% of the kids who are on campus.

That can probably be arranged.

Stories of what players. Are doing since they left the Badgers.

X's and O's like you did with your analysis of the new forecheck last year, if possible with whatever platform you are using.

Player interviews. Committed recruit interviews. Also I would like you to touch on the Women's team results, standings, news, etc.

This sounds good also.
