UW is so deep at forward this shouldn't be a problem...

The Zulinick issue should be a simple one and a wake up call for the young man. Hopefully this doesn't turn into another Mike Davies situation where it takes 3 years for him to figure out that when Coach Eaves requires something from you that you comply or there will be consequences.

good grief

let's pretend we have no forwards in the frosh class, can UW still finish in the top 4 w/out them?

Probably doesn't feel good to see a kid on your team sit but by Eaves getting in front of this he will probably save Zulinick some serious trouble down the road when academically it's too late to swim instead of sink.

The article reads that he won't be in the line-up Friday, possibly implying he'll be in the line-up Saturday. The scary thing is one you get in Eaves doggy-house, it's hard to get out of it.

Looking the Badger's schedule with no games next week hopefully that buys some time for this appeal to get done before Kerdiiles pushes the eject button. Andy, er Chuck, laid out a nice scenario that he could miss half the season and still get in 35 or so games this season on the 5th Q site.

absolutely, Eaves has done the right thing here to be sure. it's just a bit exasperating come on the heels of Kerdiles

one thing this team will be able to say right off the bat is they will have battled adversity from the get-go

A little like UND last year, losing a high draft pick late and another touted freshman for eligibiliy reasons--then injuries. A loss of talent, but it made them better in the end, IMO. And fun for the fans too, to see role players step up.

Time to start 'putting some hay in the barn / climbing that mountain / building that foundation'.

It's probably about time for a shot of B-12 also.

Re: Kerdiles hearing set for October 18th

Not bad, they hear the case the 18th and have until the 26th to render a decision before it costs him more games. One would think the "reinstatement" committee members are different than the "punishment" committee members, so there may be a chance this thing gets at least partially overturned, unlike the NFL where King Rodger doles out the punishment, hears/sleeps through the appeal, then changes nothing since he layed out the punishemnt to begin with. And with the committee having 5 members, I assume you only have to sway 3 of the 5.

I got my Women's opening night tickets...pretty cool tix.

sidenote - I hope Kerdiles is ok, the persistent headaches are kind of troubling

Just stress related.

Let's get off to a good start this year and bag a couple W's. The 1-3 start last year with the 3 L's in OT cannot be repeated, I don't think it will. They were so inexperienced last year.

Kerdiles can't practice with Wisconsin or he will have to sit out a year of major juniors. :D

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XXI - For every dark night, there's a brighter day

Will be at both games this weekend and expect a Badger sweep hopefully. Anyway does anybody know who will be in goal in games, i'd expect split duties.

As Chris Dilks put it, I think that's just some of Eaves wit with the 'persistent headaches'...

good point

despite the frosh problems I'm very excited to see what this team can do w/or w/out them. Rumpel should be a beast this year between the pipes and Zengerle and McCabe should be game changers as well.

**** poor performance by the "replacement" officials and Bucky.
