Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

Just watched G's presser, the 2 main things I got out of it is the D will be more aggressive and close gaps going forward instead of backing off and all the goalies will see playing time early in the season. At first he only mentioned in the exhibition, but then he kind of expanded that thought to early in the season. They should really ditch the old MM pressers on the video main page. I can't wait for them to be able to run full practices next week. It has to be driving the coaches nuts to be limited to 2 hrs a week right now, there's so much work to do.

Why does hockey not allow more practicing before games. Heck Football gets spring and fall.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

After my first season last year of no season tickets since the program moved into the Kohl, I have officially put one foot back on the bandwagon. I picked up 3 games in a minipackage and my unofficial boycott of Badger Hockey has officially ended. To put things into perspective about the power of my boycotting/fandom...I came to be a Badger hockey season ticketholder as a transition away from being a part of a season ticket package of the Blackhawks. Unfortunately my boycott of the Hawks lasted far longer then my hiatus from the Badger, but hopefully the end result of returning to glory is right around the corner.

Yea, 3 titles in the next 6/7 years would be nice :)

Not that we are greedy or anything, letting other teams win 4 over the next 7 years seems downright generous to me.

I see the NM games will cost 9 bucks to watch....pretty pricey to say the least.

I saw this the other day

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">.<a href="https://twitter.com/TonyGranato">@TonyGranato</a> says the plan is to play 25 players in Saturday's game -- 8 defensemen and 5 lines. Still working on how that'll play out.</p>— Todd Milewski (@ToddMilewski) <a href="https://twitter.com/ToddMilewski/status/781523886563143680">September 29, 2016</a></blockquote>

How are they going to have room on the bench for that?!?

Assuming that they will want all 3 goalies available that gets us to 28 total players, how can you fit 22 guys on the bench at a time?
I think that they usually suit up 20 players per game, with 6 on the ice at any given time that leaves 14 on the bench and it usually looks pretty full.

I could see going with a different goalie each period, and keeping the other 2 in the locker room, or at least in the tunnel.
Maybe the rotate guys between the bench and the locker room during intermissions or timeouts? Does anyone know if there are NCAA regulations about that?

Maybe the 5th line forwards and 4th D pairing stand in the back by the coaches?

I'm going to be very interested in seeing how that works out tomorrow.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey, Vol II: Rebuild, Refresh, and Renew!

^ Probably rotate lines where each gets at least two periods and 3 lines take a period in the locker room. Doubt you want to roll 5 lines as that's too long between shifts to get a rhythm.

Picked up tix for the Friday BC game. Looking forward to it!

Saw Oz at the Verona football game a few weeks ago and chatted for a minute. He seems very happy to be back.

He loved his time with the Hawks but won't miss the commute.

It's a great day for.......................HOCKEY

Bought season tickets (2), my dad retained his through the last 2 years, I had dropped out but I couldn't resist jumping back in now to get a separate pair. G2O will restore pride and bring wins and championships!

Drop the puck!
