They really looked off tonight. A lot of missed passes and turnovers. PSU's aggressive forecheck really seemed to throw them off.

Interesting on the forecheck throwing UW off. Sounds like UW needs to make quicker decisions with the puck against this team

I'm not sure if the Badgers just played above their heads during the last 3 weeks or if they just laid an egg this weekend in getting out efforted by PSU. Or maybe the puck just didnt drop their way. Its my opinion they just got out played and didnt play with grit this weekend. Which is normally unacceptable against a team that was just founded like PSU. But given the Badgers last few years I guess it's somewhat acceptable. Not really. Swept at home by Penn State is unacceptable.

Getting swept really hurts. Needed to take at least 1 of 2 at home. Have to sweep next week, as the last 6 is about as tough a schedule as possible, and we're going to have to turn the tables on the road at either PSU or Goldy.
As to how good we are - I think its still hard to say. I think that we definitely benefited by catching the Buckeyes at the perfect time, when they had key injuries and the flew was running through their team. Though who knows, maybe we could have gotten lucky & swept anyway since OSU takes so many stupid penalties (thought they were going to help us out tonight, but once they got up 3-0, the stupid surfaced).
At least Northern stayed hot & continues to help our RPI out, though other games didn't really go our way this weekend. Congrats to their goaltender on the new scoreless record. He's on some kind of run.

I REALLY hate losing to PSU. It annoys the crap out of me. Now I don't feel so confident in the UM games coming up. They are struggling, but their up and down style is a little scary and our D is a little scary after their performance this weekend. Major gut check series coming up.

That's NOT a great name for the new thread.
Kidding of course. Although I was unable to watch (and listen to very little), it certainly has sobered me up. That's pretty much expected with the left-overs from Eaves, the new guys, and the new coaches. A split would've been very nice. I'm pretty sure the players and coaches don't like this feeling and don't want it to happen again. I'm expecting a quick turnaround to where we were, and a strong finish. Nobody knows how that will result by season's end, but we are trending upward without question!
Great timing.....just as I finished posting, 4 of Madison's F-16's flew over. I had my own fly-over, now if I only had a microphone to drop!
