How can you not watch any US Olympic games?? It's the Olympics ya gotta support the USA and enjoy some really entertaining hockey. After watching Donato (Hawvawd), Greenway (BU) and Terry (DU), I would agree that all NCAA players would have had a better chance (but still no medal worthy playing against the best Euro players who are all 25-40), but hindsight is 2020. Those 3 guys are their 3 best players. I don't think any UW players would have made an all NCAA team though. I had the thought of just taking the US World Jr team over instead. They just played a bunch of games a few weeks ago which would have help with chemistry and systems.

The NCAA guys have really impressed me. Greenway is an absolute beast out there and really makes a difference every shift he is on the ice. Donato seems to always find himself in a great place on the ice. The future is really bright for the NCAA kids.

Other than the 3 NCAA players, that team consists of has-beens and never-"wases", for the most part. Truth hurt? Deal with it. We can blame this on the NHL owners and Bettman. I'd like to know how many guys WOULDN'T play in the Olympics if they were asked. The almighty dollar even rules over country pride.

Yeah they ruined it for sure, but I'm still am watching. I find myself still disliking the commies quite a bit.
Are you doing the Casting For Cancer Musky Tournament in May? I am SO BUMMED I cannot do it. I'm being dragged on a cruise to Alaska that week. I SO want to do it. It's would be awesome to talk fishing with everyone including the coaches. I pulled a 48" out of Monona and my daughter caught a 47" on Waubesa last year, I think we'd have a shot at it.

Regarding this weekend, a road sweep of #6 (?) Ohio State would be awesome. After that debacle against MN last weekend, these guys have something to prove. Let's see how big their hearts are.

Because the olympics are about the best individuals/teams from each country playing against each other. With the NHL not participating it's not the best athletes. I'll try to catch the next game just because TG is the coach.

I totally get it, I'm just a hockey nut, so I am watching all I can despite the time zone challenges. Tonight is a 10pm start, these late nights are getting hard to deal with. Usually I'm asleep by 10:30 at the latest. Texting with my son who is away @ college helps keep me awake. In 2010 I was laid off for 1 week and it was the hockey prelim week, so I feasted on hockey (and curling) that week, I had so much fun it was quite memorable.
From what I've seen it will take a miracle for UW to secure a home series....UW and PSU need to sweep if I read that correctly.

I've got an exam tonight and then no class tomorrow morning so I'm in the clear for some hockey late tonight

The greed was on the part of the IOC. The NHL has been subsidizing Olympic hockey for 20 years now. The IOC weren't even willing to pay for the travel costs or insurance. NHL owners aren't like owners in other sports. They aren't making gobs and gobs of money owning NHL teams.

The shooters did not use their best asset, speed, in the shootout. They gave the sieve all the time in the world to react. Turn the dude into a pretzel and shoot.

As Czar of Olympic Hockey, I immediately implement a WORLD WIDE law that ALL Olympic hockey teams are 25 and under no matter where they play. NHL, KHL, NCAA, CHL, USHL, SHL, SM-liiga, where ever. I don't give a **** how young they are.
They are able to temporarily leave their teams with NO repercussions from ANY organization.

I’m pretty cheesed that Decker gets nailed right in head and it’s not a 5 minute major, nor a dang penalty in general. Incompetence from the refs.
