Re: Wisconsin Hockey Recruiting Vol. XXXIV: Go pick me out a winner, Strand

He definitely has some different years than some of the players I've got on the recruiting sheet.

He has both Cruickshank and Ranta coming in for the '17 season, which would give them 19 forwards next year. With some early departures, that is certainly possible, but I haven't heard those years for those players yet.

I will just say that I am NOT the guy that can keep track of when all of the recruits are coming in, how many d-men are in a certain year.....that's not my thing. But to those of you that do keep track of it: 1 - Thank you and 2 - WOW.

The information in the article is really quite staggering....I am so impressed by this coaching staff's early efforts.

Martin Sundberg to Omaha for 17-18 per twitter hockeycommits.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Recruiting Vol. XXXIV: Go pick me out a winner, Strand

According to the "Ducks Prospects" twitter account, Berkowitz has been released from his LOI with Wisconsin.

Obviously not official, but this guy does keep up with their draft picks.....very closely actually.

Shame. Green Bay kid, drafted... but just couldn't get it going in the USHL. I can see it, but it's still not the kind of thing you want to see happen at your program.

Badger recruits (or not) on USHL 30-Man Rosters and USHL Affiliate lists are below. Also where I think the rest of the Badger recruits are playing this season:

USHL 30-Man Roster

Joe Abate-Bloomington
Adam Parsells-Chicago
Martin Sundberg-Fargo
Matt Berkovitz-Green Bay
Trenton Bliss-Green Bay
Jason Dhooghe-Green Bay
Christian Krygier-Lincoln
Dominic Mersch-Lincoln
Mick Messner-Madison
Philip Nyberg-Madison
Sampo Ranta-Sioux City
Tony Stillwell-Sioux City
Jack Becker-Sioux Falls
Max Gildon-USNTDP
Sean Dhooghe-USNTDP
Tyler Inamoto-USNTDP
Ty Emberson-USNTDP U17
K'Andre Miller-USNTDP U17

USHL Affiliate Lists

Brady Smith-Bloomington (Chicago Mission)
Patrick Keegan-Bloomington (Cushing Academy)
Samuel Stevens-Chicago (Shattuck St. Mary's)
Josh Ess-Cedar Rapids (Lakeville South)
Cole Krygier-Lincoln (Little Caesar's U16)
Matt De St. Phalle-Sioux City (Chicago Mission U16)

Grant Cruikshank is playing for Penticton in the BCHL this season.
Alex Turcotte is playing for the Chicago Mission U16.
Tanner Latsch is playing for Meijer AAA?
Owen Lindmark is playing for Chicago Mission U16
TJ Koufis is playing for Chicago Mission U16

Awesome info.

Berkowitz can't be the end of the direction change with Dmen. If you don't include Bunz or McGuire and Nyberg does end up coming in at the semester...we are lined up to still have 10 dmen next fall. Even if a guy like Inamoto pushes back a season....9 is probably 2 to many.

Are any of the returning D the kind of players G2O are looking for? My eyes tell me Tischke and Sexton are maybe the closest. Next year you may see the top 6 D be all Fr & So.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Recruiting Vol. XXXIV: Go pick me out a winner, Strand

Daniel Lebedeff commits to Wisconsin.

Based on his age and the number of goalies on the roster I am guessing he would not join UW for a while, correct?

I have him penciled in as an '17 right now, but that would be pretty early for a goalie. Stranger things have happened though.

2018 would be my best bet. Gives him a year to learn under Jurusik then he can take over the job in 2019.

I have changed that already.

Todd Milewski shows him as being a '18 or '19.

Thanks again for the spreadsheets. You are doing a fine job on those. It beats having a scratch pad under my keyboard that is only kinda accurate. Years ago you didn't know anything about anyone til signing day. That was a HUGE day of the year. This interweb thing has a future.

Absolutely no worries. Glad to do it. Living in Georgia, this allows me to feel connected to the team even though I can only watch them on TV.

Oh, and I finally decided to put together a signature that has a link to the spreadsheet as well. No idea why I didn't do that earlier.

You forgot to include Baker on this list. The 23-man rosters were announced today by the USHL. A couple of mentions: Abate is no longer on Bloomington's roster or affiliate list. I know he was drafted this year by an NAHL team so I'm assuming he'll end up there. Parsells is now listed on Des Moines' roster so I guess he was traded. Everything else is the same other than Sundberg now being committed to Omaha, Berkovitz being let go from his NLI, and Lebedeff being listed on Madison's roster.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Recruiting Vol. XXXIV: Go pick me out a winner, Strand
