Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Episode XXXI: A New Hope

It is odd that of the top 5 in Alaska, Minnesota, Michigan, Mass, NY, Colorado, & Connecticut...at least one goes to an in state school.

Well, Jordan Schmaltz was committed to Wisconsin for about 3 years, before he wasn't. So basically you're saying he's still screwing us out of stuff!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Episode XXXI: A New Hope

Dougherty was cut from the Jr's roster. I am not surprised, he's been a little underwhelming at times. I was expecting more solid play from him, maybe my expectations were a little too high?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Episode XXXI: A New Hope

Wisconsin flavor on USA National Junior team; McCoshen, Butcher and Schmaltz still on the roster. Osiecki originally recruited Dougherty at Ohio State and now had to cut him from World Junior team.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Episode XXXI: A New Hope

Given this year's circumstances, I'm glad he won't be going to Torontreal. I like seeing Badgers do well in the tournament, but he wasn't going to play a significant role, and he'll be needed in Madison against MTU.

Any word on the health of Wittchow and will he be ready for Jan 2?

Thanks.

Briefly spoke with Wittchow today and he said that he's on track for that series if everything goes according to plan.

Thanks for posting that as it's good to know. The Badgers have really missed steady Eddie. Who knows, but I sure felt like he could have been a difference maker on Saturday against PSU. Guys gave a good effort but we were still just over matched physically down low. Eddie may not be flashy but he definitely doesn't get pushed around.

Now if Rockwood can just be ready to go...

The Carolina Hurricanes just called up Brendan Woods. It's possible he makes his NHL debut tomorrow in New Jersey.

I had seen that and wondered how long till it showed up here. Our resident troll came through.

UW needs to become a mainstay in the Great Lakes Invitational Tourney. There used to be a conflict Bank 1 Badger Hockey Showdown, but since that is long dead I'd love to see UW get in that tourney every year, especially with the larger n/c slate being in the B6.
