Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Frankly, I think that's a part of the problem. This team doesn't handle adversity well. I think when they didn't get the calls, instead of using it to drive harder, they shrink. Just a little too mentally fragile when things go against them. Back to the January Badgers.
 
tOSU plays Mikes Eaves hard, every shift all game long. They play smart, clog lanes and are just relentless. Just like Steve Rohlik played.

Somehow Michigan has no problem with them. So what’s the difference?

Individual efforts on Michigan? It almost has to be because they’re just as prone to dumb penalties as UW.

Michigan can pass the puck around and beat the pressure before it arrives. The Badgers can only dream of having that much capability.

Listening to radio, can't wait to see who gets sent down to explain this implosion.

Hastings gives the post game and throws himself under the bus. Offhand comment about some things creeping in during the week that he needs to handle better. I have no clue what that means.

love the honesty from the BTN+ crew. Gave the badgers an “F”. And said they were overwhelmed, etc.

Frankly, Wisconsin looked light years from being a team deserving in of an NCAA compared to Michigan today.

Posick couldn't stop talking about the 'back door Badgers' after this debacle. He mentioned it 3 times, once during the Hastings interview. The talent on this team is nowhere close to that team, c'mon Posick.

For those too young to know who the back door Badgers are, the '80-'81 team was really good and faced Colorado College in a two game total goal series in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. They lost that series 13-12. Back then the bids to the tournament were decided behind closed doors by a selection committee. Despite their early elimination in the WCHA, they got an at large bid to the tournament 'through the back door' and won the national championship. That team was loaded with NHL talent, today's team is not. They might get in, but I wouldn't bet a dollar that they'll win a game, let alone the whole thing.

Lecy’s, Vincent, Driver, Welsh, Mullen, Ethier, two really good goalies and many more. that team was loaded.
