It is somewhat encouraging that he is throwing that out there. I would say pursuit of a championship caliber team means make the ncaa tourney. Where that shakes out in the B6, I don't know, but it they were making the ncaa every 4 out of 5 years we'd all be happy.

It does read like Alvarez speak, however, it does clearly set the bar as in they need to be B16 title contenders, which would get them into the NCAA's. The issue to me is how many years will TG be given to right the ship? It's more than 1 for sure, probably 2 min if the trajectory is on the right path. If they are 12ish wins the next 2 years he is done. The problem with even keeping him is now they have to hype and promote an old sad improving loser instead of bringing in a fresh face with a winning pedigree who would automatically get a lot of positive attention and energize the fans. No fans are energized by retaining him.
 
If the UW wants to stay with former Badgers, How about an Attitude Adjustment staff?
HC - Chris Chelios.
AC - Gary Suter.
AC - John Newberry.
G - Duane Derksen.

Well, MSU didn't hire Hastings, so there is a sliver of hope UW can not be last in the B16. And that they can hire him in a few years.

I’d love any one of those 4 as head coach. Today’s kids though are too coddled to handle it though. They’d be crying after every practice.

maybe bring in Burish to rattle some cages.

Trying to be objective, 10 years ago wouldn't we have included TG in this list?

46% of sold tickets were not used last year. 4,917 was the game average attendance. PATHETIC. Season high was 8,421 against the rodents.

No reason to change coaches, it's all good here!
