Wisconsin Hockey 2024 Offseason

Several outlets are reporting this. 3 Big Ten games with the Goofs being the odd team out and the women's game with UW and Ohio State. I can't see playing 4 games in 1 day on outdoor ice. I could see MSU vs. UM and Notre Dame vs. Penn State on 1 day, then a UW vs. Ohio State double header the next day. That could be a fun trip.

They added a lot of experienced playmakers, either transfers or older USHL guys. I think UW has just about as much firepower for this coming year as they had last year. Goaletnding probably won't be at Kyle's level, but that set the bar mega high. I honestly can't think of a more impactful goaltender at UW since Elliott, though I don't think he had as many eye popping saves as Kyle did, but that was a long time ago. It does suck they couldn't get further last year.
 
2 future Badgers drafted yesterday!

Luke Osburn, D (4x108 to BUF) and Blake Montgomery (4x117 to OTT). Neither will be here this upcoming fall, however.

Logan Hensler will, but just missed out on being eligible for this year's draft. He's considered a first-round-caliber prospect for next year's draft.

I think Hastings will continue to lean older but sprinkle in some younger drafted guys.
 
Something tells me Blake Montgomery is going to be a break-out Star in Madison. Possibly like Andrew Schier or Kelly Fairchild great in terms of point production.

can’t wait to see him play.
