Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Ugh. I was close to pulling the trigger on BTN+ tonight. Glad I took a nap instead.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

You know, if we had just lost one of the games last week, OSU wouldn’t have fallen out of the Top 10 and we would have won tonight. 😜

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

.....and they're back. Listening to Posick, this team didn't show up from puck drop. It didn't take them long to read about thenselves and think they're good.

Maybe Caulfield should've kept his ****ing mouth shut about having OSU on their heels and surprising them. I'm over him. Go to the AHL.

Careful there MCR. The conference scoring champ recorded a whopping 3 shots on goal and was -4. I’d say he met expectations.

LOL! BFD! A 7 team conference. That "scoring title" really helped the team, eh?

I was really hoping they wouldn't take a dump tonight, but I didn't buy into the hype like I did last summer.

PS...I know you were being sarcastic. I'm just a bitter man.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Was that game called regression to the sub-mean?

I'm so glad the old yank the goalie move woke up the team. And then why not just try it again because you can never be too awake you know? What was next, a folding chair and a couple traffic cones? I have never seen a season where the goalie was pulled so many times by a UW coach. It's a complete joke. It hasn't worked before, why would it work now? He makes Ken Hitchcock look like an beginner. These guys just don't get it - the players and the coaches.

I believe Duncan the walrus has 4 years of eligibility. Maybe not, he got paid with fish. Might need him tomorrow if things get out of hand again.

ND beat the Golden Chokers, that’s a good thing, right? Not as good as if they played all week to a stalemate, but we gotta take what we can get when we get pummeled 9-1.

If the Badgers keep playing with heart (like they should have been doing all year), this team can, and I will say should win the Big Ten tourney. They got the most talent.

I'm guessing they wont under the current administration. But they should.

People have been blaming the players alot on here... like they are spoiled and lazy and don't care. But these are 20 year old kids. And 20 year old kids are impressionable. And leadership matters. If you look at the last 2 weeks after the alumni gave their speeches, these kids have played great. What does that tell you? Tells me that the alumni have been able to get these kids to play hard but Granato hasn't been able to. Its freaking night and day the difference it makes when this team plays with heart and belief.

HA. Didnt watch the game. Just saw the score. All I could do is laugh out loud. Looks like it's back to normal. Way to get em ready to play Granato.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Just think, at least it isn't a total goal series...

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

While Tony and his staff need to take a great deal of responsibility for this season, it seems to me in a 9-1 drubbing there might also be some serious issues with the players. Maybe they’ve given up on the staff, but they still need to show some pride and effort while wearing the jersey. This is a debacle from top to bottom.

Well said and appropriate.

Agreed. And whatever defenseman made the terrible pass that led to a breakaway on goal 4 or 5...holy **** that kid should still be skating herbie’s.

Granato’s only path to saving his job is to access the kind of player he was and push these kids and sit the stRs when they half-*** it.

Osiecki’s only Path to retaining his job (imo only) is to teach the ****ing defense to actually ****ing defend. You could have 12 Caufield’s but it doesn’t matter if they’re lazy and there’s no D.

Also, these goalies are one hell of a far cry from Elliott and Melanson.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

The 1990 team was embarrassed at NMU something like 7-2 or 9-2 in Jan or Feb and the kids circled the wagons, held a player’s only meeting and never looked back.

I don’t think this team has leaders like Rohlik And Andringa so it’s very likely the last few weeks was like Awakenings with DeNiro and Williams. 😢

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Annie Pankowski just did the puck drop before the Kings vs Wild game. FSN crew gave a shout out to Wisconsin for recruiting her.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Anyone watching the WIAA boys game? Why was the go ahead goal for Verona waved off? I didn't see any problem with it.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Verona forward skate clipped the goalie.

They still got the win so everyone is happy here at my house.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-20 Part II: Civil War

Mercifully, this abomination of a season is over. A tough examination of the state of this program is in order.

I didn't see that at all.

Anyway, this was probably the fastest thread to 1000 evah….what's the next title going to be?
