Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

Wisko was merely making an inside joke for his own amusement. Adding a little "Leavitty" to the situation if you will.

That 'one post' Iron City follows it with an accusation against Tony seems to me to be a pretty good troll job.

Unless of course on the very, very, off-off chance it isn't, (which would be such a mind boggling coincidence I almost hope it isn't) we can take comfort in the fact that after the last hotel hallway fight, the Badgers won about 75 games over the next 3 years.

Well, what do we have here? A ****ing comedian, private joker😂

In Todd's game article, Granato quote, "....I've defended our guys' effort in staying in games....".

Does this mean he's done defending them and finally recognizing (without bullschitting fans) that there's a major schism?

Personally, I'm currently more disgusted in this program now than I was in 2015. We didn't expect much in Eaves' final years, but we expected a helluva lot more under these guys.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

How the team reacts to that loss will tell a lot.

A few stupid plays killed their rally after tying it at 2-2. Ahcan muffs a pass in d zone they pick off and score. Blown faceoff coverage and bad outlet pass on faceoff WE WON and they score. The team did not handle the blown plays well and the wheels fell off.

Essentially, if their forwards are always beating our forwards to pucks, we are going to take penalties, not possess the puck, and our defense and goaltenders are going to be under pressure all the time. If we have forwards as good or better than the other team, that will not be the case. It will make a big difference next season.

Everyone keeps saying the one and dones will be a band aid. Everyone coming in next year at forward is not a one and done. I'd be surprised if anyone other than Turcotte left after a year. Caufield needs to gain strength, Holloway is a 2020 draft prospect, Donovan is coming from high school, Lindmark is a middle round guy, and Pelton-Byce will be around 2 years. This will give other players a chance to come into the program and mature, including the current crop of Freshmen forwards.

The last part of this is actually what I am most excited about. I can’t wait for this current team’s freshmen to be the junior and senior leaders on the Badgers. Caufield, Achan, Gorniak, Messner and Mersch are going to be an awesome group of leaders after two or three years’ growth.

Interesting that Johnson and Berry are in the doghouse. Achan was yesterday getting bumped to the extra F, then gets bumped up to the first line today.

What I got out of the newspaper article was TG was pretty much done taking a bullet for the players.

Awesome start for tonight, 2-0 after 1, 3/3 on the PK and 1/1 on the PP.

This is a total Sh*tshow so far. Anyone who says different is nuts. If Granato has some master plan where it takes 5 years to resurrect a program than great. I hope so.

We were hanging at my moms tonight. Shes 70 years old and had 4 season tickets going back to Bob Johnsons Badgers. I asked her what she thought about the program...."Sometimes the best players dont make the best coaches."

Ohio State just won the Big Ten. Steve Rohlik is the head coach, former badger.

Until we hear differently from Todd, I don’t think Johnson is in the doghouse- I think Granato just shuffled lines after last night, and with Mersch out injured Johnson adds experience with Caufield moving over to Center that line. Achan’s “punishment” must have just been a single game.

I am still surprised by the Berry news. We won’t know what happened, but he’s literally the last guy on this team I would have guessed if you’d have asked me who would be benched for a disciplinary issue.

Couple years ago, or last year, pretty sure it was Berry that did something stupid..... as a result Granato wrote on the White Board: "Rule 1: Don't be a dick. Rule 2: See Rule 1."

I know plenty of nice guys that act a little different once they get a few beers in them.

Basking in the glow of a win, it's gonna be a great week.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

What a difference when the forwards back check. Most nights, if you want to know how the Badgers are going to do, just look and see if all 3 F's are getting back to the dots in their own zone.

Was glad to see Malone get the ENG to finally get another point. He had 97 career points 9 games ago and now finally sits at 99. Hope he gets in on the action offensively next week and finishes out his career on a high note. He's been a good Badger.

I believe the Badgers would need to sweep MI next weekend and then, very oddly, have either PSU sweep at Notre Dame, or, have PSU get 2 points or less at Notre Dame, to get a home ice playoff.

Edit: I take that back -- ND would have the tiebreaker over UW, so PSU would need 2 or less @ Notre Dame. Of course the chances of anybody sweeping anybody in the B1G this year are not very good at all.

K. Miller leads the team with 22 or 23 points... what is the lowest total of points to lead a Badger team in scoring for a season? I would have to guess this will be it.
Bad grammar yes, I know.

Not only that solo, he's a freshman. A defenseman. He has missed the last 4 games AND missed games when he was in Vancouver for the World Juniors. Doesn't say much for our forwards.

We kinda knew coming into this season the F were weak, didn't we? Losing Sampo and Cruikshank didn't help the cause at all. Linus is nearly to 1 pt/game and he and Seamus are right on Miller's heals for points. Miller is a 1st round draft pick who used to play F.

It is maddening to play 2 games this weekend that were complete polar opposites. I'm not sure what that means as to the players and the coaches. I guess it kinda points the finger on the players. They are capable, they just need to play like we all know they can.
