Hey - I have not been to a game yet this year, but I will be in the KC for Sat Night. Those that have been to a game this year, how is the intro music and video this year? Different from last? Better/worse?

Looks like Johnson to the pressbox and Craig Smith to the top line. That seemed like a no brainer to me as Johnson has not done much and seems more of a 4th liner than a top line guy at this point.

I've been to every game this year, but I'm embarrassed to have to admit I haven't even noticed the pre-game intro.

They did change up the intros this year. Last year, lights went out about 1 minute before the teams hit the ice, and played the video into to "Enter Sandman". This year, teams hit the ice, opposing team is announced, then lights go out, play the intro, then the Badgers are introduced. I do not like it as well. I really liked the pause between the intro of the two teams, all you hear are the drums from the band and the crowd starts clapping in unison. When the place is full, it was pretty awesome.

Yeah, I noticed that. It was awkward.

Play the video, introduce the visitors, introduce the home team, play the anthem, drop the puck. That's the way to do it.

They need a new song. Enter Sandman was old after the first season of using it.

Agreed, after they used it for the third year in a row.....I was like really come on...how can they not find another song. Now I think it is the fifth year or so and the song is still playing.

I was at the Saturday night UHN game (free ice cream - our first time experiencing that). The intro did seem less rev'ed up with the changes. I will say, even though the crowd was a bit small, I thought the student section did a great job, the best I've seen in years (I only get to 1-2 games a year).

I agree a new song would good at this point. I do like the celtic/rock song they played during warm-ups. Anyone know the name of the band?

The main reason I asked is that I am taking an First-Timer to a game on Saturday and I told him the intros are pretty cool and that really (sometimes) gets the place rocking.

The crowd will get as loud as the recent play of the team combined with the level of hatred for the present opponent dictates.

Thus, Fri and Sat could be pretty good...........

I don't know if the intro was "off" because the change in order, it wasn't a capacity crowd, or the Enter Sandman song is tired, but there is no doubt the first 2 Saturday night intro's were ackward. I think it's a combination of all 3 things (why change the order of things that flow pretty well?, Sandman should have went 2 or 3 years ago...so much good music out there to get amp'ed up with, a hated rivalry game with a few more fannies in the seats will ramp up the intensity).

I disagree, i think its a great song, i don't trust them to pick something better so I would just like to see it kept alone. I think they moved the intro back a bit to try to get a few more people in the arena for it which i agree with. I know its hard to get badger fans to anything sporting even on time, basketball seems to be the best as far as people getting there for the team to come out. It would be nice to have a crazy arena for the players to come out too like Va Tech football but i'v learned that just isn't realistic at wisconsin. We can't even get it for football...

Is it friday yet so we can slap the gophers around the kohl center for 120 min and send them home to play with themselfs :P

I'm glad patty is sitting this weekend just because i think C. Smith and Lee have a little more to offer offensively, i just hope they can match his energy on the boards and ability to back check like patty does, those are 2 things that need to be replaced if you take patty out of the lineup, i know its going to hurt him to not play in these games because they mean a lot to him but I think our lineup without him is VERY VERY good for the weekend, any goaltending updates yet???

I agree that for the most part patty brings a lot of the intangibles that are important, especially in a rough and tumble series like UW/UMTC (I love that Duluth calls them that) usually turns out to be.

If Eaves doesn't feel as though he gets what he wants on Friday, there is always a chance you could see him back on the ice Saturday night.

We've got a mountain on the island, but no one has ever climbed it because we're all too lazy.
