Wisconsin Badgers '26-'27 season: Finishing what we started

Brendan Ali is a dirty player. I wish Wisconsin had a McDonagh type player this year to give that prick a warning about what will happen next time he tries to run a UW player.

Any word on Palodichuk?

What was the 5-minute PP for? Very odd that a Wisconsin guy gets knocked out of the game and then ND gets the power play.

Other than that, great game

And Brendan Ali needs an ass kicking!

Was at the game and I didn't see the hit in real time and they never showed a replay of it.

Was it a dirty hit coz I was looking at the refs and neither had their arms up and he didn't get a penalty. If it was head contact, Hastings could have challenged (I believe) and he didn't.

I saw one replay and it wan’t the best angle. Looked to be face to face the ND shoved Palodichuk back towards the glass and I think he hit his head hard on the glass. Hastings said they want to check and make sure he doesn’t have a concussion.

I very much like the response from the badgers players though.

Why they called Pietela for fighting when no-one dropped gloves(that I saw) is kind of a mystery to me.

Notre Dame will be duking it out for the bottom of the conference, but unlike the past when we too often struggled against the lower tier, we blew them out. If the freshmen and sophomores keep contributing as they are, and the penalty kill tightens up, look out. Is this offensive rampage the 'Pavelski' effect?

Agree with this take...the outcome for Palodichuk obviously wasn't ideal, but the hit wasn't dirty.

Very fun weekend games and lots and lots of positives. I won't take series like these for granted after seeing the Badgers struggle with teams like Lindenwood and Alaska Anchorage in 23/24 and 24/25 seasons.

Some other random notes and thoughts I had:
-5/9 goals yesterday scored by Europeans. Probably some kind of record.
-Solomon appeared to hurt his arm/wrist in the second and went to the locker room, was on the bench in the third but I didn't see him on the ice at all.
-If Knox gets a game suspension for fighting, and Palodichuk isn't available, we may only have 6 D available for Thursday in Minnesota.

I rewatched the hit from
Behind on Schulz last night that was upped to a 5-minute major and game misconduct on the ND player.
Man…half step closer to the boards and Schulz could have gotten seriously injured again.
At this point I have to believe the Notre Dame coaching staff is encouraging this reckless and dirty play.
That’s 3 out of the last 4 games vs Notre Dame where ND players leveled dirty hits on Badgers.

If the refs don’t warn the ND coaches prior to the next series it could get very ugly. This is worse than Michigan under Berenson.

Agree that the ND coaches need to get a handle on things.

He was on top of his guy and piss pounding him. It was fair penalty IMO.
