I could live with that.
If UW wins both games this weekend don't they lock up the regular season WCHA title?
I could live with that.
I could live with that. Don't you want a UW sweep so UM can finish second?
Yeah, she's been great for much of her career, but some people still don't know her name. And holy smokes Stalder is a Patty K candidate!
I was looking forward to the #1 #2 matchup this weekend and this really takes a lot of the sheen off of it. Something seems wrong to me that we are finding about it 2 days before the games. And holy smokes Stalder is a Patty K candidate!
To even things up and restore the drama maybe Johnson should rest Pankowski and Nurse. What do you think?
Re: the band. For the Mankato weekend, UW women hockey was pretty much literally the only game in town. That is not at all the case this weekend.
It's a big band..figure it out. It's not like Leckrone works the women's games anyway.
"Why aren't you people spending your weekend doing what I want you to do?!?"
Not just me. Pretty much most of the fans, players and coaches.
I'd love for the band to show up, at every game.
But that doesn't give me any right or whatever to expect it, or to demand it.

So do you not have a right to expect/demand the band show up to a football game, or a basketball game, or a mens hockey game either?
If anything the lack of expectation is the only reason they are allowed to get away with not showing up at Womens Hockey. Minnesota expects the band to be at Ridder every game, and they manage to have a band, even when the men are playing next door at the exact same time.
Won't matter. Gophers will actually expand their one point lead over the Dawgs after they sweep the final two series of the year.I could live with that. Don't you want a UW sweep so UM can finish second?
I don't know, man, we are going to have to agree to disagree. If the issue is not being able to find students willing/able to play the games, that's one thing. However, if it's the very top of the band leadership making the decision for everyone else, I will always have a problem with that.

P.S. Why does it seem that no matter what the game, no matter what the circumstances, the conversation in the Badgers thread always ends up discussing the band? Could it be that the band just doesn't care very much?
Obviously those that run our band operations place a much greater emphasis on supporting women's hockey than what they do in Madison. And yes, for that we do consider ourselves fortunate. Having them in the building, doing what they do, does add to what is already a fun atmosphere at Ridder Arena. If the Gopher Band showed up arbitrarily (if at all) to your games, it would be a topic of conversation in your thread guaranteed. Consider yourself fortunate it's not an issue up there.
