Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

You and Chuck like to rip on Kessel for getting picked last as if it's a bad thing.....just curious how many NHL all star games have you two have played in?

You're a disgrace. You're varmints. You're one of the lowest members of the food chain and you'll probably be replaced by the rat.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

If anybody is looking for their hockey fix in Madison the weekend of February 10-13, the Gold Medal Classic has it's annual run at Capitol Ice. The Badgers will be in Omaha, so it's a good time to check out some Major Midget hockey. The Capitols website has no listing of teams or a schedule, but I'm sure it will be up soon.

Good call MCR. I always try to give the tournament some pub on the blog. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: Looks like Shattuck won't be there this year as they are playing a couple high school teams, Richfield and Benilde St. Margarets (which features UW recruit Patrick Daly).

Just a question, how many games have YOU played in, little piggy?

rinkpig, seriously...first, start making decent posts around here and you might have a decent enough rep that we can respond to you in a more serious manner.

so until then, you're a fan of a disgusting rat team, a troll, and as for kessel he can blow it out his ear.

one of many fond memories from the 2006 NCAA championship game was after Gilbert's goal, someone behind me yells at the top of his lungs "where's phil kessel tonight?"

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

Really cool seeing McBain and Stephan in the skills competition. Stephan beat the tender on his breakaway, but hit the crossbar. That's saying a lot considering most of the shooters were made to look silly by the tenders.

My eldest saw Kessel and said, "Man he has put on the weight."

Awesome news on the Friday game is on the tube.

Eaves should get COTY, but we all know who ever votes on that are all in love with Gwoz. I will say it is amazing how Denver and UND pretty much never rebuild, but just re-load. Eaves has had a few rebuilders, but this year looks like a re-load to me, not a rebuild. Looking next year over on the recruiting thread, well it looks like a rebuilder with that dull recriuting class, less Rumpel.

You guys/gals see the awespome rodent toilet on the rodent off season thread? AMAZING.

Hey all- voting is now open for the annual Badgers Seventh Man Award. From the website:

Vote for the UW men's hockey player you think gives his all on the ice and best represents the Badger trademarks of team spirit and good sportsmanship.

Named for the man who started Badger hockey broadcasts on WPT, the Jim Santulli 7th Man Award will be presented to the recipient in April. This is the 31st year the trophy has been awarded.

Vote online at: http://www.wpt.org/sports/seventhman/

A la HarleyMC:

....and I believe the correct term you are looking for when referring to rinkpig is either "dumpster fire" or "afterbirth"

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

I know this is the mens thread, but wanted to give a quick plug for the Badger women (#1 in the country) hosting Minnesota Friday and Saturday night at the Kohl Center. Saturday night is Fill the Bowl with $1 admission (UW students free) and most of the surrounding lot parking is free. For those who haven't seen the Wisconsin womens team play, it's better hockey than you probably think it is.

I would recommend to those planning on going to get your tickets in advance if possible. Sometimes there is a bottleneck issue at the ticket office when they have games with relatively larger crowds.

Overall, it's a pretty fun experience at a really good price (normal price is only $5).

Nice work guys, new women's attendance record.

For those interested, the Friday game vs Nebraska-Omaha will be aired at 7:30pm on The Wisconsin Channel and can also be viewed live on netNebraska.org and on wpt.org/wisconsinchannel.

The Friday game of the UNO series will be on the Wisconsin Channel, picking up the feed from a Nebraska public tv station. Kudos to whoever put that together.

I heard something about some football game being on.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

That's Sunday not Saturday, and i'm not big with the NFL or any professional sport really (except NHL). Plus with all media coverage it kinda gets annoying and forces me to turn the channel.
