Wisconsin Badger 2025 Offseason

BIG7 getting more and more competitive. Huge hill for Hastings and just got higher.
FWIW, Michigan State just lost Isaac Howard (signed with Edmonton after being traded). For as much as Penn State improved today, MSU got that much worse. They still have a pretty deep roster, but losing Howard will bring them down a little.

Penn State now a recruiting powerhouse thanks to NIL? https://www.eliteprospects.com/news/2026-nhl-draft/gavin-mckenna-commits-to-penn-state

$700K? wow: https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

I think the article got it wrong on this is what's best for his development. This is about cashing in on people throwing money at you for their gratification. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if he's truly committed to full effort or just biding his time until the draft.

I was worried that they got this guy, but it was based solely on money, and not the staff, facilities or quality of the school. It was the highest bidder. If Pred St. wants an $18000/game rental, go for it. I could be wrong, I don't think that is sustainable. UW can win with a more traditional approach to building a team. Imagine how the rest of the locker-room will feel about this guy. Sure some guys stats will be better than they would have been, but him getting that kind of money will not sit well with some of the guys.

I sure hope you are right. I still remain optimistic that Hastings / Knott and company will figure it out. He's a great coach.
